I feel like moving Suzuki doesnt make any sense. Hes on a good deal. Much better off moving unknown pieces like Slaf or Farrell

Depends on protections but assuming its just like top 5s then i think

2024 1st
2025 1st
Farrell
Harris
Kidney

That could be enough imo.

Ya I don't think so no, no way mtl move Reinbacher after passing on Michkov/Benson. And at this point, Dach is starting to look more like a 1C than Suzuki. At least, he seems to have more potential.

If Petey gets moved, itll be because he requests a trade, in which his value then drops tremendously. He can then sign his offersheet, play for a year and walk as a FA if he so chooses.

So the canucks wont be able to get his true value. A trade just past the Eichel deal is what idi imagine, where

Krebs=Farrell
1st=1st
2nd<1st
Tuch replaced by Kidney and Harris where i lean Kidney and Harris (tuch was no valued as highly then)

Could I be wrong? Of course and i guess we will need to see. Reinbacher + Farrell + 1st + more is 100% what his true value is imo. I agree there. Its just all about leverage and my gut tells me he never could get his true value

To be fair, I don't think Farrell is worth much until he proves something. I'm not saying he won't but he's not worth much yet. Pettersson will give the Canucks a much bigger haul than what you are offering though. Dach, Guhle, 1st 2024, 1st 2025 is probably something that would look more a deal that could happen but I don't think Habs and Canucks are a good trading match. Vancouver should look elsewhere tbh

Tkachuk requested a trade and still returned a 115 point winger, a top pairing dman, a 1st, and a prospect

Pettersson is better than Eichel and isn’t in need of major neck surgery. He definitely gets a better return than Eichel

Farrell is not as good of a prospect as Krebs was, and Tuch’s value > Kidney + Harris

If you want a top 5-7C in the league, it starts with 2 of Reinbacher/Dach/Slaf, with the Canucks likely wanting Reinbacher + Dach

As I said, I really don't think Habs are moving Reinbacher. Not a question of whether the value is there or not. Dach would probably be part of the trade no doubt.

I also think Pettersson is more like 10th in the league in term of center. McDavid, Mackinnon, Matthews, Crosby, Hughes, Point, Eichel, Barkov are better imo.

McDavid, Mackinnon, Matthews, and Draisaitl are the only ones you can for sure say are better. Hughes and Crosby you can argue. Maybe Point

Eichel is worse offensively and defensively than Pettersson, no chance he’s better. Barkov is still great, but not quite as good as Pettersson

I think we you start getting a few interesting Swedes in the roster -- adding players like Boqvist in CLB or even Holtz in NJ for instance -- and sign Pettersson when he'll become UFA.

Montreal with Pettersson still isn't making the playoffs this year. But he is enough to move Montreal from a top 5 pick to around the 10th pick. Making Montreal's 2024 1st quite a bit less valuable.

Tkachuk got a 115 point winger who was rumoured to not want to extend, pending ufa RD, 1st and a crappy prospect. Thats obviously still a lot.

Tuch's value was quite low with VGK so i really dont see that.

Plus Eichel had his value higher because hes on a good deal with some term. Petey is about to set the bar for highest or one of the highest AAVs in the league.

In the end we can disagree on all of this, but i assure you we dont see a

Slaf, Reinbacher, 1st, 2nd and Guhle deal. One of those guys could be the center piece then build from there
