Description

I think Nemec was right call for NJD. To be clear, we are happy with Nemec.

But Cooley would have made a fun offense to watch. If we had selected him, we probably would have extended Severson and would not have added Toffoli or Miller. My guess at what our line-up would have looked like today…

Fun to look at, but I think we’ll be better off with Nemec over long-run.

Gotta think the Devils are much better off not extending Severson to seven years, so Nemec looks like the best long term selection.
I know the Devis gave up a lot to get him, but I'm not sure if Meier for eight years is going to be good value

I don’t think he has lost value…just hasn’t clicked here yet. Our top-6 plays super fast, so sometimes adding a power forward into mix is hard. Meier has been struggling with pace a bit. Instead of trying to force Timo onto Jack and Nico’s lines, I would be curious what a heavier 3rd line of Meier, McLeod and Palat would look like.
