Hawks decline. Can't see them burning a 2nd retention slot for the 24/25 season to upgrade a mid 3rd round pick to a late 2nd round pick. They'll value the slot more than this.

i mean thats assuming Kuzy @1.9 doesnt get more value...i was trying to give it a modest return. Might also want to add a more dynamic player to the roster to help w Bedard. Either way 3rd for Kuzy @ half seems lite

You do the leg work to find the team that wants him, and CHI might be willing to take a 2nd round pick to broker some retention. But, anything outside of that is a no go. Kuznetsov has been a debby downer lately and would likely be awful for our locker room, too. Not the kind of guy I would want to insert into the CHI rebuild puzzle, even if only for a short time.

For sure. You could probably get more from a team that actually has interest in him.

Exactly this. Kuznetsov is not the type of attitude you want around a young group of players. He's better suited for a team that has a well established leadership core like Boston.

Exactly! Saved me the trouble of replying. Hawks potentially have Hall, Donato, Anthanasou and Kurashev at a minimum next season on expiring contracts. All could be attractive options at the TDL w/ retention.

There is no chance I bring someone with Kuznetsov’s alleged habits into a dressing room full of young players. Additionally, as a rebuilding team I see no reason for the Hawks to trade anything of significant value for another teams aging (30 +), diminishing players.
