The last thing the sens need after all this drama is a coach like Patrick Roy. They need a quiet cerebral coach that will implement a good structure and hold player accountable but is also careful not to say too much to the media to attract unwanted drama/attention.

They need a coach who will keep them accountable and play with possession. Dump and chase works when you have a roster lacking in puck skill. Ottawa has too much talent to keep trying to make it work. They dump the puck more than almost any team and the generate less offense on dump ins than almost any other team. If Roy can tighten up defensive structure and get them playing with the puck on their sticks I'll take him all day. Maybe an assistant coach like Julien or Jacques Martin too to round things out.

Hot Take: Trade Chabot — Chychrun Sanderson Zub is a real nice top 3, use part of the Chabot return for a 4th RDH for those 3

I think using whatever Chabot returns, flip it and try and grab Andersson to fill out the right side with Zub

Chychrun Zub
Sanderson Andersson

That’s absolutely gross if you ask me

Would love to trade Chabot , for Crouse , Weber LTIR and one of the 20 2nd rounders they have in the next 2 drafts.

And then use a 1st from this year and more pieces for a Dman. Might even be willing to move Pinto. But it would have to be a guy under 26 with team control or term

The problem is really the NZ play... just horrible in general, or when they don't have possession in the DZ

A good combination would be Patrick Roy and Guy Boucher... Swag/winner + Cerebral defensive minded coach. Martin or Julien would be great too

Andlauer has to spend on coaching and not miss the target, he has no choice.

That's a really bad trade though

Crouse + 2nd for Chabot damn. Like if #1 Ds would grow on trees.

Your (and others) Chabot crusade already has effects. Habs fans are saying Guhle is already better

Any reason why you have been ignoring the graph I showed you or wanting to understand the importance of transition?

Remember my takes on Joseph or Dorion for example? Put Chabot on teams like Boston or Carolina and just watch it go.

2nds mean nothing for Ottawa. Sens have made 9 2nd round picks since the rebuild started (and traded away nearly as many) and exactly one of them has shown himself to be a difference maker at the NHL level. Pinto. Turning Chabot into Lawson Crouse and a 2nd would be a catastrophe for Ottawa. He's good, but not special in any way. If you're trading Chabot and not getting a 2/3 right shot Dman who can solidify things defensively, you're making a mistake.

Despite everyone overreacting to their current record, the Sens are actually playing okay. They’ve battled back in some close loses and blown out a few teams in their wins. They’ve been on the wrong end of injuries and pick luck. Stay calm and carry on. And DJ is fine.

Disagree. They're a really talented team, of course they're able to play really well at times. This is a good roster being held back by a bad coach.

Re accountability; show me an example where he hasn't held the team accountable? We don't see what happens behind close doors, so I find it hard to validate that take.

From what I've actually seen on the ice, the goaltending has been bad... that's not on the coach. Give them better goaltending, and no one is calling for DJ's head.
