I’m basing this on 2 firsts to dump all of Campbell’s deal, then 2 2nd’s + D for Binny. I doubt he costs much

Binnington is not worth that much, he's been up and down himself, just a little younger and Cup Ring in his pocket.. If they were to make Binnington/Campbell deal, Bourgault yes, Broberg likely replaces Desharnais and it would be a mid round pick IF necessary to get Binnington for $1m more as a cap hit and same term remaining....

Dude, your offer doesn't even pay for them to take Campbell.

Are you out of your mind? Binnington is a mid AF. You should be happy anyone wants to give anything for him. There's a 1st and two 2nds in the deal.

The reality is this trade is dumb as a whole because it's basically a lateral move, and a very EDM trade to make. There's not much separating Binnington and Campbell at this point in their careers.

I'd honestly take the goalie with slightly worse numbers over the one who throws a hissy fit every time he let's up a soft goal.

Not sure a team that was the favorite to win the cup this year would feel the same way. And Campbell's numbers this season are much more than "slightly worse"

You guys are talking about their career performances. Edmonton doesn't care about that. Edmonton doesn't care that Binnington was bad last season, or that Campbell was good a couple years ago and that's brought their current numbers pretty close to each other. Edmonton cannot afford to miss the playoffs. They need good goaltending *right now*. Binnington is giving that. Campbell is on waivers. That's where the conversation starts for teams in win now mode.

I understand why one would think it probably won't last with Binnington (I agree) and I certainly don't want to be involved in defending that contract or his general demeanor but to act like swapping Binnington for Campbell wouldn't be a dramatic shot in the arm for a floundering team right now based on how they've played *right now*...I just can't relate to that. Especially when you're basing it off of the career averages of players known to be volatile.

If they want a bad goalie that's had a good few game start to the season go after mrazek or Jake Allen. Guys with less term and less money owed. Don't go after one of the few guys with a worse contract than the one you're trying to get rid of.

I said this in the other great where you spewed your ignorance. He's played 8 games. Spencer friggin Martin is a top ten goalie in SV%, so you need to calm down. Binnington's last two seasons have been garbage.

Doesn't understand value? You're getting almost an identical goalie in return plus top futures. You're basically getting free futures with no real change to your goaltending ability.

Purely clueless. As usual. And newsflash, a 1st and a 2nd does not cover taking Campbell's 15M trash contract. OBVIOUSLY.

No, it's not. Binnington has been a shadow of the goalie he was since winning the cup the last TWO years. .901 and .894 respectively. That's garbage and that's TWO years in a row.

It's a financial wash in the trade for a goalie who's the same level of Binnington and you get a 1st and a 2nd. It's a huge win for STL.

Nope 901 is fine and last year was a fluke as hes proven by the start to this year
