I’m not a Hawks fan, but this proposal is ABSURD

1- you’re simply not getting Chicago to retain that much on Jones- not for 6 + seasons

2- even if they were willing to do so, the compensation you’re giving them is NOWHERE CLOSE to enough


Even if u take away the 2nd & 3rd that u have the Leafs getting,
it’s still not getting done- not even close

It was what a couple analysts reported which well to even be remotely possible.klingberg needs to better prove himself a power play specialist, from crazy thinking about timelines with with contention on hawks, and a loss of potential where hawks think less of jones. I could say more reasons where such a trade will always be wishful thinking.

Feels like CHI would move Jones for the right deal, but retention would be a deal-breaker. The player is probably available but nobody is going to kneecap a rebuild by tying up a retention slot for 7 years.
