Miller was bunched for like last 5 minutes of the 2nd period think it's a little unfair to put him here think putting Kuzmenko would be a little more fair

Same for Meier. But hard to come up with 23 players this year…so any benching counts.

Do you mean when they're leading? Cause the coach does that with Caufield and Anderson as well at times. I see that more as him double-shifting his best defensive players.

Only times I've noticed him missing shifts is late in games they are leading and he's not the only one getting left off the shortened bench.

I saw him sitting in the corner wearing a funny “bust” hat. Caufield was laughing at him.

I’m sure it’s nothing.

That's a bad take on it, Slaf isn't used as a shutdown forward. He is primarily used in an offensive role and in the last 5 minutes of a tight game when you are up by 1 goal, you send out your best defensive players to lock it down, Slaf hasn't earned that role yet. He wasn't benched so much as wasn't played in a high pressure role too early.

For the Leafs you can go with Klingberg and Reaves.

When was Engvall scratched or benched? (Genuinely curious). 7 year contract for him is nuts. And I really like him as a player.

Is that the same "bust" hat that many were eager to place on Hughes after his first season? One would think people would learn that it's not uncommon for players to improve after their first season.
