So Cooper no as I think using the Vasi out a while will be the excuse if they miss like 2017-2018 but if this continues 2024-2025 then he may have problems

Sullivan will be interesting. To bad you cant trade coaches as come next offseason if Pitt decides rebuild teams will keep a close eye on him

Akira Schmid getting ANOTHER B2B start for the Devils.

No word on what injury or illness has Vanecek out. Nico Daws called up to back-up.

The last time this happened he was coming off a great game against Philly but let in 5 goals on 17 attempts to the Sharks the next night. The only difference is that he only faced about half the shots last night against Columbus as he did coming off the Flyers game.

Apart from Joe Pavelski, who are the best net front players in the league?

Krieder is really good there.
Val Nichushkin is pretty effective there.
Byfield is really making a name for himself this season in that spot.

Imagine if MacKinnon could shoot anywhere near as well as he can pass or skate. Imagine if he had Rantanen’s shot, or anything close.

My guess is that PIT rides out the season with MS and they “mutually agree to part ways”. Isn’t that what usually happens when they want to save face?

I can see either MS or Coop w/ the Devils next season.

Imagine if you could trade coaches for assets

Sullivan would be a prize to many teams

Toronto (depends what happens this playoffs)

Ottawa (got to think Smith fired no?)

Islanders, Devils, Sabers, Kraken, Blues, etc.

Cooper I feel with his recent success and the fact Vasi was out for the start of the season he gets 1-2 more years

For Cooper, I would think the ball is in his court, if I’m Tampa, I want to keep him but Cooper could decide he wants a change of scenery ( I don’t see why he would but he could )

I hope fans understand that firing a great coach like Sullivan would be done to freshen things up b/c they’re not true contenders anymore. Coop won much more recently - I agree he has a much longer leash.

Either coach would probably bring a 2nd rounder at least. I think you’d have to make the pick conditional. If the new team wins the Cup, they have to add a 1st rounder. Then again, STL went from worst to first w/ Burube and he could’ve been acquired for Future Considerations, if anything.

Rico torches the devils every time he plays back in jersey. Ray Sheri made a lot of mistakes as Devils GM and trading Rico was certainly one of them. But these things happen.

OTT I feel is in an interesting position now

They have 2 rentals to trade but it will be interesting to see what happens with Giroux and Chycrun. Yes they are from the area but all this non success got to be getting to them no?. I dont think both expected things to be like this especially Giorux

Come this offseason OTT management has to go to them and say hey do you guys plan on staying. If the answer is undecided or no got to heavily explore a trade. As Giroux could end up back with the Panthers in 2025-2026 and Chycrun could end up signing with some hot shot competitor leaving the Sens with nothing.

Gonna be interesting to see as if Alfie and Jacques Martin dont change much there could be a core issue needing to be worked out and not just coaching ones.

He just inked a multi year extension... Keefe also has the room

Hopefully he doesn't get fired bc that would mean the Leafs are doing well

The issue with him really comes to playoffs

But the guys love him and often the record is good with him with only Bednar having the better record since hiring

Will be interesting to see what happens
