The fact that Seth Jarvis isn't on here is laughable... he's has 2+ years of being a productive top-six player on a Stanley cup contender

I am a big Cole Caufield fan. But 8th is way too high. Cozens and Boldy have bot had 30 goal seasons so far. I would put Caufield just behind them. And that's no disrespect to Caufield. I like him a lot.

It's still really early but Reinbacher not getting ranked is not a great look for Montreal, especially with the KK and Slafkovsky picks

Not even close...

Bedard's potential is McDavid level or even Crosby level... J. Hughes isn't that...

And J. Hughes isn't even the best brother rn, Quinn is in the lead for the AR as a defenseman

If you want any updates on why Quinn is better talk to any Vancouver fan

I mean KK ended up working out (it just took a competent organization rescuing him)

I agree with Bedard but Quinn #1 is just recency bias. Jack still is averaging 2 points per game and would be number 1 in my mind if he didn't get injured. He would for sure be still top of the art ross and hart trophy race if he hadn't got injured. Not convinced he isn't still #1 in Hart.

Firkus, Simashev, Wolf, Wallinder...
(over Mercer, Nemec, Lundell, Edvinsson)

Also, the age cut-off seems a little random (but I guess its the only way to sneak in an Oiler...they always have to have one from each Canadian team).

very strange list

But so is Jack TBF... They've both been very good this RS... But Quinn is also a defensemen and has put up a string of really good seasons to Jack's 2... That put Quinn ahead in my mind

Quinn has been great but like the rest of Vancouver it’s based on ridiculous shooting luck. I don’t believe that quinn suddenly turned into a 14% shooter as a dman or that a 18% on ice shooting % is sustainable play.

You say bedard has “mcdavid and Crosby potential”. Yes but Jack has the actual currently outpacing what everyone other than those 2 did at 20, 21, and now 22. He has 22 points in 10 games with sustainable 5v5 shooting rates.

Jack has been at an 100 point place since turning 20. Quinn was still a college player until his age 20 season. Jack being NHL caliber at a younger age is an advantage, not disadvantage

this looks like 11...

And Hughes isn't near McDavid or Crosby, you even suggesting this make you delusional... Bedard, meanwhile, is near McDavid rookie season numbers with guys like Nic Foligno and Taylor Hall, Old one,

And J. Hughes also has a high shooting percentage... Quinn is taking more shots per game than his average and creating more and more offence down low...

And Quinn is a defensemen

Hughes has only been on a 100 pt pace last year...

And again, Quinn is a defensemen putting up 60 points in 70 games, 78 pts in 76 games etc.

Jack Hughes is shooting 14%. In line with the last 2 years where he shot 13.8%

Quinn is shooting 14%. Over the previous 4 years he shot 4.9%. A guy suddenly becoming an elite shooting dman at 24, or a small sample size against some horrific goalies. He has 2.8 xGoals and 8 goals. Do I believe quinn hughes suddenly became one of the best shooters in hockey? no

I excluded a 3 minute game where he left with injury because it isn't a real game. Hope this helps.

10 actual games, 22 points, with 10 even strength points on sustainable shooting rates. In terms of PP vancouver and NJD have had about = goals above expectation with a man up
Quinn has 19 games and 16 even strength points on unsustainable shooting rates

Hughes has been at a 100 point pace since the 21-22 christmas break. After coming back from that break, he had 21 goals and 48 points in 36 games, a 48g 109 point pace

Overall in the 124 games since that break, he has 70 goals and 169 points.

That's a 112 point, 46 goal pace

He shot 12% last year, 15% the year before and 7% before that... His shooting % should dip a few percent...

Hughes is also getting more shots off though... He's averaging an extra shot more a game...

And? Do we exclude the games where Huberdeau gets benched? Or Gaudreau? No... If Hughes had points in that game, you would still count those...

11 games played, 22 points, less EV points than Quinn, Bedard and Mason Appleton on a slightly high shooting % vs a defensemen who's playing his best hockey and is getting more and more offensive chances a game... Both will dip, but Quinn's is better...

Oh so we can now count which games we want... Quinn has also averaged 101 point pace since February 27th, 2023...

As a defensemen
