The players are similar enough in value but, Boston wouldn't have anybody to replace Carlo and the role he plays in the top4, you'd be hoping Lohrei is ready for the whole season + playoffs and forcing him or Lindholm to play the right side

this^. Trading Carlo to fix some of the holes up front just creates a bigger hole on the backend. Carlo isn't Jesus Christ, but he plays a super important role on the Bruins that isn't getting replicated in the slightest by anyone if he's traded

If I was Sweeney I'd be all in on Kuzmenko if the Canucks are down to trade him, but Carlo is off the table rn, he's been playing like a solid number 2 d-man this year

Ehh - I think Canucks would have to throw in a pick to make up for the difference in term on the contracts. That said I am not sold on Kuzmenko replicating his 40 goal season - I would like to see a little bit more of a track record. Zero interest in moving Carlo for a winger too - he leaves a pretty big hole on the right side of the line-up and RD is more valuable than a winger.

Thanks for your answers, that's kind of what I figured, but thought it was interesting and I didn't think the value was insulting even if giving up Carlo wasn't a practical option.

Honestly - value is there, fit isn't. Bruins are running with 3 good scoring wingers right now, and it works because of strength on D. I think trading Carlo completely changes the character of the team, maybe more than any other single player other than McAvoy.
