I think Nylander is worth probably $10.5-11m. What i'd give up for him is probably Necas+ Pesce (with extension) + a prospect with four exceptions + 1st assuming he'd be willing to sign a team friendly deal so that we could surround the team with more elite talent from the farm. He would be a great RW on the first line next to Aho and Jarvis

Doubt this. Nylander gave a huge discount the first time around. He’s going to go for max pay day. I think TML fans sense this too, he’s always being thrown up on here for trade. He’s gone. TML is also doing a good job pumping up his production for maximum return too.

First - Leafs are most popular team in the league; I try not to reference knowing what TML fans think because hard to accurately represent a fan base in the millions. Most fans I know pretty sure Willy will re-sign.

Since the Leafs are in a Cup run,,,,,,he's not going to be traded. Doesn't matter if hasn't resigned by TDL.
Contending teams add upcoming UFAs at TDL, they don't traded away star players.
Next season....as Leaf fan I'm not worried at all if Nylander signs elsewhere. That cap. space would be use just to sign other players.
Nylander will be 28 in May so his next contract, just might take him past him prime years. IMO Nylander best place is with the Leafs as Matthews will be here four more years.

I can't imagine TML keeping him at 11M... that's mean Marty will worth 12... some GM's will offer him 11M for 7years... last 3 years contract will be painful.

I think they need to move on from either Nylander or Marner next year. They need to start putting some money towards the D, goalie and depth. IMO never gonna win a cup with this much money tied up in 4 guys. My pick is to let trade Nylander this year and go after a top 4 D and top 6F replacement.

Well if you selectively ignore games played to make your argument, then yes you have an argument

I think if Necas and Pesce both signed for say 5 x 5.5 necas and 4 x 5 Pesce (ballpark figures, maybe a touch higher), you include your first and either Drury or Heimo or Blake then the Leafs would have to say yes to that. I know Pesce hasn’t had a great year but he’s been a solid D for many years. Necas won’t produce like Nylander but he can put up 60 - 70 points on the 2nd line.

Plus the prospect and first can be flipped in a package to another team to upgrade goaltending (possibly Saros or Vejmelka) and another D. If you can do all that with one trade for Nylander plus another couple picks and prospects you’d be a fool not to.
