Literally no chance the penguins even give this a thought lol. Ovi seems washed. Jake is a decade younger and produces similar numbers. If Jake is signing that deal then he has far more value than ovi.
If ovi keeps up at his current pace that contract is going to be an anchor. Caps would have to eat half ovi's deal for the pens to even consider this.
Also it is spelled Pittsburgh.

Ovi would block a trade to Pittsberg anyways lol

nahhh Jake says no ahahaha.

plus pens would never trade Jake for a worse player if they want to win now.

Absolutely silly, but: Ovi needs a new Backstrom or he's just driftwood on the ice, and Crosby would be an upgrade, one of the few out there. Ovi on Crosby's wing is about as close as a lock for the Gretzky record as I can imagine.

So, in an alternate universe where people on both sides could get over all the emotional baggage of something this insane, I'd actually say go for it. Both teams are pretty gassed and it would just be a really cool conclusion to the best rivalry of their generation, and one of the best in NHL history writ large.

I doubt Jake wants to stay in the retirement home during the bad years

If there's an extension in place then I'd say Washington adds but it ovi doesn't wanna go to the retirement home either

will still be better than the caps bad years. the caps have always been owned by the pens, no player in their right mind would want to play for wsh if not 'forced'.
