Honestly the best part of this trade is how convoluted it is for the Blue Jackets, even though they clearly win out on value.

It's their clear #1D and a struggling winger half retained, for two firsts, Toronto's top prospect, two players who are decent but expiring, and two guys with term they already have (Kuraly and Roslovic). Not to mention, when they activate all the guys off the IR, they'll either have to bench or send down players like Voronkov and Marchenko who are actually playing well.

It's a remarkably baffling trade from both sides of it. A real masterpiece. People need to take notes here, this is how one does a nonsensical trade.

What an absolutely terrible trade from a leafs perspective. I wouldn't trade Nylander for the bust that is Patrick Laine. Let alone adding 2 1sts and our top prospect. What a ridiculous idea. Werenski is good, but no where close to the value suggested in this trade.
