oilers trade is brutally bad

Though I’m not sure I would agree with it, I could see the Pens doing this if their, at the time, LTIR situation permits. If there isn’t anyone on LTIR then I don’t see how the Pens could swing it cap wise.
Oilers easily decline. They can keep or better utilize those assets and simply buyout Campbell in the summer. Also, that’s an overpay for Savard, even with retention.

I think the Pens would do this if the cap allows.
The EDM trade is not something they would be interested in.
So I agree on both parts of what Dr. Nebraska said.

If he is healthy and still producing the Pens would definitely do that. The issue is cap space so a player from the active roster would have to go back in return along with retention on Monahan.

Pass
If you guys need to RS pay another team to
This is below market Value with the lack of Centers available this TDL especially of Monahan's Caliber.
We need that RS spot more then we want Nylander

Monahan is a huge question mark with health and production this is not below market value. If this is the hard offer for him the Pens pass easily.
Thanks for the discussions!
Yess the oilers trade, I made oilers overpay just cause Campbells contract. Definitely overpay just testing waters.
Penguins would only do trade assuming someone on LTIR and that they are competing for a playoff spot and well into the race. Not 10 pts out or something like that. They gotta be at a legitimate point to be a playoff contender to do that trade.
Yes the Savard deal I had Tampa overpay a touch. I’ve loved Savard’s game so far and if he were to continue it, this is what he should get at TDL. I think Tampa is perfect fit to go back to, especially with retention and 2 years remaining remember. He’s not a UFA, still got another year of him. So would be a nice fit and cheap at $1.75M.
