Blues decline. Not much need for another forward prospect like Raty. I think we only trade buch if we can get a good defensive prospects although I think the blues will try to re-sign him

Garland is the reason why the Canucks have scored 10 of their last 15 goals. No joke. His ability to pressure the puck carrier on the forecheck is unrivaled. Vancouver isn't trading him.

People complain that the Canucks SH% is sky-high, meanwhile, Garland has been the most snakebitten player in the league. The guy should have had 10+ goals already, but his puck luck when he's the one shooting is brutal.

Also, I can't see Vancouver moving any of their defensemen for another LHD. Hughes and Hronek are certainly untouchable; and Cole, Soucy, and Zadorov all joined this season. Myers would have to be for an upgrade on the RHD, he eats too many minutes to be swapped for another LHD,

Not sure that’s a winner if Buch goes on the block.

Very little benefit there for the Blues aside from the first which is presumably late. Garland having an additional season isn’t necessarily a plus as he’s a decent player but paid probably near the top of what he should be and he’s a lot of what the Blues already have.

Don’t see a basis to work this deal on this season. Next season I’d imagine the price for Buch would be a bit more reasonable to other fan bases. This is almost a 2 season rental right now

Don't think these are the right prospects for a Buch trade and also EP is cutting Vancouver a deal if he signs for 11 mil. Easily worth 12-14 for that term.

Penguins decline. Cap makes it impossible but the Pens need Pettersson way more than that combo.

The only problem with Garland's low shooting % is he literally has one of the worst shots in the league. So an open look for him isn't really a scoring chance. He basically has to bang in a rebound or tip something in to score. outside of 8 ft he's not scoring.

Trading a LD for a better LD. Why not? Matt Roy is signed to replace Myers minutes.

Def not a fleecing. I think we end up in a better situation. A huge part of any trade is reallocating dollars.

Raty is the top center prospect in our organization. He was a 2nd rounder whos played well since being drafted. Prob has late 1st value currently. And then Garland I think can fill the hole left by Buch. I think another team could raise his stock and then sell him when he's putting up 50-60 points for another pick.

Soucy is what 80% of Pettersson plus you get a 1st line winger.

Garland's career average S% is 10%, he's shooting at 2.8% right now. Even his worst S% in a season was 8.9%. That's not because "he literally has one of the worst shots in the league," it's because he's been very unlucky. The same way people said Kuzmenko's S% was astronomically high last season, Garland's is extremely low. If he was scoring at his average, he'd have 8 more goals this season.

Garland at 10g/10a/20pts in 32 gp vs. Buchnevich at 10g/13a/23 pts in 28 gp

I'd rather have Garland, Raty, and the 2024 1st than just Buchnevich. If the Canucks want a Top-6 winger, cheaper ones can be had without compromising two key futures.

Our problem is we need goal scoring and Garland isn’t that.

I know who Raty is. I actually like him. But he’d be our 5th best forward prospect most likely. And we have 2 guys signed long term to add to that group. We just need defense more.

Look at my name! Look at the deals I made in Vancouver. Do you really think I'm concerned about properly allocating dollars?

If its not exactly what another fellow fan would do despite making said team better, fans here rather NOT DO IT cause fandom is really just an escape that doesnt affect your life when your cheering for laundry wore by multimillionaires. This is why some fans say, 'WE' as they enjoy the tribalism.
