Me personally I'd go for the 1.75 mill cheaper, better, younger goalie

Gibson hasn't been that guy in years. You'd essentially pay an insane asking price for a bloated AAV in hopes he'd return to prime form. Better use of assets elsewhere

I don't think I'd claim gibson if he hit waivers. 3rd biggest goalie contract in hockey for what is not even close to a top 3 goalie

I think I'd pay that for Gus. Only goalies I have above him are Saros, Swayman, Igor, Sorokin, Helle, Oetter, Demko, and Vasy

I’d add another 1st+ to the Gustafsson deal before even considering the Gibson deal over it.

Miller would be a big upgrade on Bogosian on the right side for you guys. Allows you to lock Wallstedt into a 1A or 1B role next year. And then into a full starter role in 25-26.

Is Minnesota gonna really compete for a cup in the next 2 years with that 15 mill in dead cap?

He’s not bad. He’s just not worth his contract. Over the next 4 years only Bob, Saros (if he gets 8 mill+ on his next deal), helle, Igor, Sorokin, and Vasy will make more than him.

A goalie who’s gonna be in that 18-25 range over the next 4 years, making top 7 money isn’t positive value.

This year the only goalies making more than Gibson are Bobrovsky and Vasy. Is John Gibson a top 3 goalie in hockey? Is he even a top 15 goalie in hockey?

Gibson is by far the better goalie.

Ducks have been bad for a long time, bring him to Jersey and he reminds everyone he's a top 5 type goalie

Seems a little steep for both…I think Gibson is the better goalie, but the AAV needs to be shaved down for that price.
