It’s looking more and more like Hughes is looking to extend Monahan but even if he does I’d do that deal with the Avs since we’re missing a more offensively minded center with Dach out for the season and I believe it’s worth the risk.

Kovacevic is a 3rd pairing dman on the cheap. Sure the Rags are probably not the right trading partner for him but given past value for this type of player at the TDL a late second is more than far.

Yea doesn’t make sense to trade him to the rangers since he would be the 7th man, but I’m sure the value is close for other teams

Avs aren't going to add cap for a guy like Dvorak, even 450k.

Yes he holds no more value than RyJo and costs more.

After all that trades, the CH has weakened even more and has fallen back in the reconstruction

I think I started something on Capfriendly by being positive to a Dvorak/Johansen post. Oops.

So far, RyJo seems out of place in Colorado. It sounds like the same can be said in terms of Dvorak in Montreal. Neither guy has much value tbh. Both could probably use a change of scenery. Are they equal in value in a 1-1 trade? Maybe, maybe not.

But really swap here is probably marginal at best. Hell: maybe Dvorak could be worse in Colorado than RyJo has been. With that in mind, I think Montreal would add a lil bit. But it’s marginal enough that I don’t really care tbh.

It's more me being penny-pinching as every $450k will matter going forward. For a guy who may be better, probably won't, I'm not taking that gamble. If MTL want RyJo for futures then sure or I'd even send a low pick to move him but adding ANY cap in a deal like this is a no-no for me........and yes, you're right......give a Habs fan a sliver of daylight and soon Dvorak will be the second coming the Avs need!!!!

COL moving RyJo at the very least has to mean a net cap neutral move, it can’t be moving him and taking on more cap for another bottom 6 guy. I like the idea of Dvorak and the flexibility he could bring to the bottom 6, but I have always hated his contract.

I'm a bigger Kovi fan than most but just bc Kulak got a 2nd doesn't mean he will lol. He'd be a hard 7th/8th dman on this team. Probably wouldn't be a vast improvement on a lot of team's bottom pairs to justify that price either...
