Oh yeah COL will trade a young top 4 dman for a late 1st (in two years) a late 2nd and a collection of guys that couldn’t make the Avs. Quantity does not equal quality.

Ignoring the obvious issues of that trade, could Minnesota even afford Jones?

Can we just agree to ignore all of this and move on?

Parise + Suter buyouts come off books soon freeing up 14 M

Right, so let's just send the better defenseman, a solid middle-six center prospect, a cap dump, a likely top ten pick in this year's draft, and a second 1st rounder. All for one of the worst defenseman on one of the worst contracts in the league. Because they gain, theoretically, $14M in cap space.

      Yeah, no thank you.

You're either trolling, or genuinely confused as to Jones' worth. Because you couldn't be that clueless as to the value you're asking Minnesota to give up here.

Brodin? Really? The guy Minnesota wouldn't trade straight up for Jones, even if he came half retained. Which he's not, by the way. Which is more important to team success? The defensive defenseman who shutdowns McDavid on the regular or the defensive blackhole who's only saving grace is his ability to QB a PP?

I think we can all agree, it's the guy who shutdowns McDavid.

As for that $14M Minnesota has coming off the books in a couple years. Jones? Really? I'd rather spend that money on the young stud talent Minnesota has coming up that'll be due raises as they come off their ELC's right when the buyouts end.

      Brock Faber
      Marco Rossi
      Jesper Wallstedt

Heard of them? Think they're a tad bit more important to Minnesota's future success than Seth F'ing Jones.
