Description
Huge 3 way trade

NJD get Swayman
Boston get Lindholm (retained) extended + Schmid
Calgary get NJD 1st, NJD 2nd, Casey Seamus

A touch too much going to Calgary?

I clearly don't know Bostons lines well enough.

Thoughts?

That’s quite the price for Swayman, but it works for CGY and for either Lindholm or Hanifin, BOS’s choice

Maybe drop the 2nd and I think you’re right there. I’m a Devils fan and I realize any move for a goalie wouldn’t be a bargain; we’re gonna pay a hefty price because teams know we need goaltending

Considering the way our guys have played this year, I’d say that if you drop the 2nd from the trade, I’m okay with it. You have your starter of the future

Too much for Swayman, not enough to NJD.

I had a similar…
-- CGY gives Hanifin, Lindholm, 3rd, $2.4m cap space
-- CGY gets Bahl, Lysell, 1st, 1st, 3rd
-- BOS gives Swayman, Lysell, 1st
-- BOS gets Lindholm, Toffoli, Schmid, $6.1m cap space
-- NJD gives Bahl, Schmid, Toffoli, 1st, 3rd, $3.7m cap space
-- NJD gets Swayman, Hanifin

This has
-- CGY gives Lindholm, $2.4m cap space
-- CGY gets Casey, 1st, 2nd
-- BOS gives Swayman
-- BOS gets Lindholm, Schmid
-- NJD gives Casey, Schmid, 1st, 2nd
-- NJD gets Swayman

Maybe there is some middle ground….
-- CGY gives Hanifin, Lindholm, $2.4m
-- CGY gets Holtz, Bahl, 1st, 1st
-- BOS gives Swayman, 1st
-- BOS gets Lindholm, Toffoli, Daws, $6.1m
-- NJD gives Holtz, Bahl, Toffoli, Daws, 1st, $3.7m
-- NJD gets Swayman, Hanifin

This doesn’t really make sense for Boston. Their goalie pipeline is strong, so they don’t need Schmid. Lindholm isn’t a 1C, so it doesn’t make sense to sign a 29yo an 8 year deal. Coyle and Zacha fill the spot of a 50-60pt center. Lindholm would be better going to the Avs where he doesn’t have to be the guy.

Bruins aren't trading Swayman, so there's also that

Holtz Toff 1st and Bahl feels like too much.

Fair fair. Based on that we could maybe go to another 1st instead of holtz. (Or Casey if they want a prospect) and still be at even value. Also how are separating the value of retention in your comps? Bc obviously horvat came with retention. So how did you seperate that in terms of value?
