I don't anyone that used that logic. "Marner isn't really any better than Kemper (per others). So they Leafs need to retain to dump him and get anything back in return".
But I'm sure you'll use any logic to fit your argument.

Marner is better but kings will be able to get 2.5 Kempes when marners next contract kicks in, Kings would decline

The Kings will be spending a combined $12.5M between Kopitar and Kempe for the next two seasons on the top line, which will allow them to pay for a good goaltender or bolster depth scoring. Not sure LA and Toronto are as good of trade partners as they were a few years ago.

Marner has had 2 season with more assists than Kempe best total point yr. Kempe has only once had more goals in a season. Marner's best season is 32 points more than Kempe's. They aren't in the same solar system when it comes down to it.

Once again, you've mis-represented our position so egregiously that I doubt it's unintentional. What @palhal and I and many others have said is that one season plus of Marner isn't worth two seasons plus of Kempe, especially when you factor in the indisputable fact that it will be easier for the Kings to re-sign Kempe than it will be to re-sign Marner, for both numerical and affiliational reasons.

But thanks for the shout-out.

Marner is 3 yrs younger.

What are you talking about?!? Marner is 8 months younger.

Yes there is 3 years difference between september of 1996 and may of 1997.

And to say they aren't in the same solar system is a stretch.

I would have to go back on the original trade but it was just Kempe for Marner. It was Kempe, Brandt and I believe so other player for Marner. That was more than outrageous.

Marner has a full NTC so maybe posting these constant Marner trades is simply an exercise in futility

My bad thought he was born in 94.
