I do like the idea of the trade. Just with Minnesota cap situation would be hard to pull off

I would think this makes significantly more sense if they were trading for Lindholm

i don’t see Minnesota moving any first rounders or top prospects at the deadline for this and next year. When Suter and Parise dead money is going to be off the books then yes. They should just try to make the most out of it for now.

I agree. Like I do like the idea of that trade, just cap situation is very sticky. If they didn’t have the buyouts, then yes, green light but sadly that’s not the situation

🤷‍♂️ Just saw this on the trade forum section today. Just wanted to know you guys thoughts on it. I don’t think they should do it with the cap situation (Minnesota that is) but that’s just my opinion

I agree with you.
Minnesota shouldn’t take the risk on getting Noah Hanafin.
They have to be careful on trade deadline day, and their cap space.

Agree. Just get depth pieces making league minimum or even below league minimum

I think in a Lindholm sweepstakes other teams would have a very tough time beating Heidt and a 1st. Boston no chance. Colorado would have to offer Ritchie +1st, and then probably a bit more to make up for the probable pick order. Winnipeg 1st + Lambert, not sure if 1st + Lucius is enough

Agree. I’m still so mad that Heidt didn’t get a spot on team Canada for the World juniors. Amazing player. I wonder what kind of a difference he could make for Canada. Can’t complain with the 5-2 and 10-0 victories though I guess

Wasn't he on the roster? Did they cut him to fit in Poitras? Im genuinely shocked he's not there. I also really wanted Catton to go. I think he may be available around the Flames pick this year

Minnesota doesn't touch this, even if they had cap space

Just to add, Minni isn't in a playoff position. That's a lot to give up for a guy who may or may not help you even get into the playoffs.

That’s a horrible trade for Minnesota. Holy overpay on a rental.
