What exactly are you giving Calgary for them giving up a signed solid RHD? I don’t see much there.

I know all the leafs fans think Lilly is great, but they all trade him?

To start, very few dmen fetch a 1st + 2 x 3rds. Lily is a very solid middle of the line up guy. I would say he is a very good #5 on a cup team. He is still young and can develop into a #4. He would have decent value. But he doesn't bring much physicality and that's something the Leafs are lacking in their d core.

1st + 2 x 3rd + Lily is a very serviceable package. Maybe Calgary passes or gets a better offer, but this offer would be right up there.

I am only trading Lily because we are getting a clear upgrade over him, longterm. I have no interest in trading him otherwise.

The Pens are giving up a good Backup/1B and retaining. The usual ask in ACGMs is a 3rd without retention. Why would the Pens even consider this?

2 x 5ths would have very similar value to a 3rd. I don't see Pits retaining outside of Guentzel. So they can easily do this 500k retention and it doesn't hamper them. If they can beat 2 x 5ths, all the power to them.

If Philadelphia ends up selling at the deadline, it's going to cost a 1st for Walker. Timmins doesn't really a hold a lot of value and the 3rd + 5th isn't going to move the needle. 4th best team in the Eastern conference by record heading into the new year, it's going to cost a pretty penny to get one of the best rentals on the market.

Give it up Leafies. You won't be getting good players at bargain basement prices.

I am having a tough time gauging Walkers values. At the start of the year he was a cap dump. And now he is playing #3 minutes on a Philly team that are surprising a lot of people.

I would be shocked if he fetched a first but you may be right that I am under paying here.

I think the highest likelihood is that Philly stands pat and doesn't buy or sell at the deadline. Unless someone is willing to way over pay.

I understand Calgary not wanting to trade Weegar. So maybe that's a none starter.

If you think this is "bargain basement prices" than you are delusional. Could it be a tad short? Possibly. But it is far from "bargain basement"

Very similar? Maybe. But not equal. And certainly not enough if we have to do you the favor of retaining salary.

What would be your asking price for Ned at 50% retention?

Considering he's signed until he's almost 40, Liljegren is more than enough. Before his deal is half over, Weegar will be a negative asset.

Guys being paid their biggest deals into their late 30's are negative assets down the road. That absolutely is going to lower Weegar's return. This is far from a bargain basement price. Remember when you guys wanted a 1st plus for Zadorov? Yeah maybe settle down

He will have just turned 37 when it is over. If I am doing my math right. Of course the last 2-3 years of that contract are probably a wash at best.

It's not, not when you consider his gross term on his deal.

He turns 30 in a week, he will be 38 when his contract is up. Absolutely no chance he's as good as he is now even at 34. It's a terrible contract.

Like I said, the standard for Ned has been a 3rd without retention, which I think a 5th would cover.

I think the historical comps have good support to either a 1st or 2nd + prospect for Walker, specifically Manson. Timmins is fine but the injury history is a huge risk for any team taking him on. 3rd and 5th have no marginal benefit for the Flyers unless they are selling off depth pieces.
