Why? Seriously? Why? What is the rational behind moving these guys other than the team is losing?

I’ve come to the conclusion that to fix their flaws they have to move :

One of Tkachuk or Batherson (defence isn’t there)
One of Chabot or Chychrun (too many puck movers)
Brannstrom , Kubalik, Tarasenko (no future here)

The 2 I listed are the most likely to get us a huge haul to send us into a nice 2 year rebuild and have a prospect pool ready to come in hard in 2 years

Absolutely not. Tkachuk isn't our best player, but he's the foundation this team is built on. It'd be like ripping the heart out of the group. And Chychrun has been massively underrated this season, he's our best Dman by far. Evolving hockey's WAR model ranks him 2nd in the entire NHL among blueliners.

This team clearly lacks defence everywhere. Need to fix it and need to fix the prospect pool

You extend Turbo and pesce, with Necas, prospect and a 1st for Chychrun and Tkachuk

That would def fix the Sens as long as it’s a good prospect and they also add an elite forward in the draft

      1. You can still teach these guys a system and D. You don't trade your best forwards for defence. Considering they still haven't gotten a proper coaching staff or system behind them. You also don't trade the guy who will go into battle and drag the crew with him or the guy with the best valued contract right now.

      2. Chychrun and Chabot are fine when healthy. The best defence is to always have the puck and great first pass. These guys give you that. Stop attaching anchors to them in Hamonic/Zaitsev...

      3. That's an obvious. These guys were never part of the solution long term. Trade them and recoup some assets to either restock the cupboards or acquire the right guys.

There are some issues with this team right now. But a knee jerk reaction in trading your most skilled guys is asinine when:

      A) They haven't been coached properly in 6 years (goes for both forwards and defence).
      B) They haven't played with proper partners in 6 years (defence).

I appreciate your content you post on here but i strongly disagree on this one. I could see moving Chychrun if he makes it clear to management he doesn’t want to stay but I wouldn’t entertain a Brady trade unless it’s a severe Overpay.

      As for the prospect pool;
The real problem is the lack of a rebuild that the Sens have been in since 2017. Brady, Sanderson, Tim and Boucher are the only top 10 picks despite being the worst team in the NHL since 2017. Dorion seemed so focused on leading a group of hipster amateur scouts that were effective in finding late round diamonds but seemed to ignore central scouting/ consensus picks in order to make off the board selections that could be had later in the draft.
      Sorry for the rant lol

Yeah the prospect pool is bad. We need to fix that. We need another 1st and 2nd in this draft. We need a 2 way or defensive top 4 RD which are EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND OR ACQUIRE. We need more defensively responsible middle 6. We def need a retool

Certainly Chychrun would be best and maybe easiest move. Nice cap, and a team could have him for 1.5years, two playoffs. Would think his value would be less if just one year on his contract.

And hes shown he’s healthy and playing better than last year. Should get a very good return

Marner with extension for Tkachuk in the offseason, as the base of a deal. Leafs get the shakeup they need if they lose again this spring, Sens get a star two-way playmaker to spark offense on any line he's on.

No thanks. If Sens move Tkachuk it’s for a haul like:

      Necas
      Nadeau/Morrow/FUS
      Multiple high picks
      Maybe another prospect too

      Knies + Liljegren + 1st +?

If he became available I'd hope to see Toronto all over it, one of the few players I'd be willing to include Knies in a deal for

I would imagine Uncle Fitzy would be all over Brady. Anything off the roster would be available…and any picks…but other that that, I am not sure there is a high-end piece there that would get it done. Casey, Filmon, Gritsyuk, Stillman, Hameenaho, Vilen…

Yeah no unfortunately that doesn’t come close to getting it done with no 1st this year potentially and no A level prospect

      What

“Sens should be willing to move Chychrun or Tkachuk for the right haul“

Devils would not have the right haul. Hence, the left haul.

      Ah ok gotcha funny

      Necas
One of Morrow, Unger Sorum or Nadeau
      1-2 high picks
      Heimosalmi or Koivunen

That type of package is what the Sens would be looking for

We have our 1st this year…currently in late teens. But anyone that would serve as anchor piece is probably in our lineup now.

And if we are going to acquire a goalie in the summer (or at least preserve our ability to if it’s needed), we would have to keep some dry powder.

      Eichel-sized. I get it.

I don’t think we’d part with Mercer…so unless Holtz / Casey could be centerpieces, not sure math adds up.

I don’t think Mercer is even a good enough centrepiece for Brady lol. Brady is a unicorn , only a monster sized package could get him out of ottawa.
