Ylonen has 27 points in 83 games. Kaliyev has three times as many points in twice as many games despite being two years younger. We might be interested in Jake Allen with 50% retention in exchange for a third-round draft pick, but nothing about that particular package would motivate us in the slightest to part with Arthur Kaliyev.

Let’s say the Kings had the cap space to get a goaltender of Allen’s cap hit, why would they pay when they are getting similar save % goaltending at 1/3 of the price in Rittich?
