I’d throw in a 4th if you’d like but I’ll need 50% retention on Dickinson just in case Siegs can come back before the playoffs. Would give us room to send down smith or miller and bring Siegs back into the lineup

I’m not sure how interested the leafs are gonna be in moving Brodie with the position they’re in right now. However, if hes available we should go hard for him and move Dougie to LTIR until April.

I wouldn’t know either but I’ve heard a lot of complaints from leafs fans and he’d free up cap for them to make other mives

I’d keep the picks honestly.
We have too many holes.

Sell toffoli 50% retained for a 1st+3rd then to get the picks back.

We need D and G this year more than toffoli even if he’s the better player. And it actually would gain us futures here

Said it the other day. Grizz for Bastian straight up. Still stands.

Sweeney won’t do it though.

Now if you want to talk Ullmark/Grizz, now would be the time. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Vancouver traded Bouvellier for a 5th, so they could trade for Zadorov without salary going back to Calgary. The Grz deal would be something similar here

We needed a dman or two before the injuries. Now we need three. Save our ammo for summer acquisition.

If nosek’s timeline to come back is on track then sure I’d do that.

So you’d just sell Toff and play for next year then?

not too far off value wise but I think at this point chicago has so many picks stocked up that another 4th doesnt really do anything for them, theyd probably actually prefer to retain on both contracts to try to get max value back and accrue higher picks that they can use to try to trade up at the draft. Ideally I'd maybe want something like both guys at 50% and a 4th for 2 2nds.

No…wouldn’t pack it in yet. I would try to turn cap space into blueliners (either via waivers, taking cap casualties) or if we buy, make sure it’s someone with term

That’s what I somewhat tried to do here with Brodie and Gryz

I like the Grz move. Would like Brodie at same price (grimace).

I do not think I would buy Dickinson or Mrazek. There are better options for less. I’d price em both around 5th round pick.

I have Dickinson retained around a 2nd, Mrazek retained around a 3rd.

Without the retention the 3rd goes away

The values fine but if the hawks can retain and get more from another team they do that instead. Especially with all the injuries in chicago I think its gonna take quality over quantity to convinced kyle davidson to ship out his few healthy guys left

Retaining probably just gets you a 2nd on Dickinson and a 3rd on Mrazek and limits you with no more retention spots on the year

Yeah if thats the best they can get they definitely consider that but KD might also prefer to just keep them around. Theres not a lot of pressure to sell this year since the hawks are already a basement team with a bunch of picks and are short on roster players. Really the only other guy you'd use a retention spot on this deadline might be tyler johnson and at 2.5M I dont think he gets you more than dickinson or mrazek at lower cap hits anyway

Hawks have 8 of their top 12 forwards on IR. Dickinson is literally their best F at the moment. He isn't going anywhere until most or all of those 8 guys on IR return - if the Hawks even trade him at all and don't just re-sign him. If the Hawks do end up trading him, it won't be for less than a 2nd. I imagine there will be multiple teams in on him if the Hawks do end up trading him, so Hawks should get their asking price if not a little more.

I'm not even certain the trade you proposed a few days ago would fly now considering the Hawks injury issues.

2nd+3rd+Vanacek for Dickinson and Mrazak (no retention)

But this is probably as good as it gets, and again, it's now going to be much closer to the TDL than now. Hawks just can't afford to lose another F.

Absolutely fair. Maybe just a Mrazek for 3rd+Vanacek swap then for now and we revisit the Dickinson move at the deadline?

Hawks might pull the trigger on that Mrazak deal now. Assuming no other team offers up a 2nd if the Hawks are willing to retain. But I like getting a G back to fill the void in your offer.

Vanacek can certainly eat starts and has some bounce back/flip upside at just 28 years old. If not there’s a tank commander right there
