Campbell is going to cost two 1sts to move according to Oilers' own writers: https://oilersnation.com/news/moving-jack-campbell-expected-to-cost-two-first-round-picks-oilers-listed-as-aggressive-buyer-ahead-of-trade-deadline-and-more

If the Oilers want the cap space this season, they'll have to pay through the nose for it. If they're willing to wait until next season for a better chance, they can buyout Campbell.

Not according to Oilers own writers. It’s according to Pierre Lebrun’s guess if you actually read the article.

It won’t cost 2 1sts. Look at Cal Peterson’s cap dump and adjust for one extra year. The price will still be high though so it won’t be happening.

Oilers will buy out Campbell. It’s an easy buy out.

Drury starts laughing. More and more hysterically. Then he hangs out.
Who was it his wife asked?
Those prank call from EDM again, I wouldn't worry about it.

Not sure which is funnier? Thinking all Kakko costs is a 3rd, or that the Oilers would get anything back in that Campbell trade. Rangers and Hawks both easily decline. Moving Campbell out at any point this season will cost a 1st and a high end prospect at a minimum. As others have already stated, more likely two 1st's.

He updated trade to remove Rangers and go for Saros. Now 2 1sts + Campbell to Chicago for FC.

Still don't see why NYR should do this trade. At least Kakko is a roster player with good defence to his game. Something if looking at the last 10 ish games, is something that I severely lacking. I'm just saying 🤷

The Rangers and Blues just give you a baffled Steve Harvey look and walk away backwards Homer style.

Kakko has 3 pts in 20 games this year and just doesn't get minutes, its clear that both him and NYR have lost confidence in him and a change of scenery is pretty likely in the the next couple years.

No what is clear is the defensive game they played so well slipped so badly since he went down with injury it is not even funny. And next to Blake Wheeler, Kakko is a superstar 🙌

Can't remember the last superstar winger with a career high 40 pts.

Cam Lewis wrote the article I linked and agrees with it, otherwise, he wouldn't have quoted it or would have provided counter evidence. Also, LeBrun is one of the most respected hockey insiders other than Friedman.

I agree, Oilers buyout Campbell, but keeping him through the deadline limits their opportunities for playoff upgrades.

Next to Wheeler, I said. If you going to make fun of what I say, do so without cherry picking please.

Kakko just isn't good, he still has potential to be a 20 goal, 55-60 point winger but that just isnt gonna happen unless there's either a coaching change or team change and laviolet isn't going anywhere anytime soon

Yeah maybe. I do think if they blow it this year (and we know they will) there will be a lot of changes to this team. Under those circumstances I would keep Kakko because his value can only go up from here (or not) but losing a 3rd isn't much to cry about...

No one Oil Country knows or cares who “Cam Lewis” is. He’s equivalent to me writing about the Oilers a rando in the Internet. Regardless, Cam’s article still states it only came from Lebrun, who by his own admission doesn’t even watch the Oilers. He’s an eastern based writer and none of those Oilers haters can be trusted anyways.
