Maybe for Laf and Schneider, but not Kakko.

Anaheim declines, That offer would easily be beat. Sorry Kakko isn't a world beater.

Definitely not Laffy. He’s finally looking like the player they drafted

Just what the Rangers need, another soft, perimeter skating, east/west passing forward that doesn't play defense.

No reason for the Rangers to open up a big hole by sending away an extremely valuable piece in Schneider. Maybe Kakko, Othmann, Goodrow? I still don't think a shakeup like that would be positive for the Rangers, I think any deals they make would not involve any big roster players like Kakko or Schneider. Unfortunately they can't really afford Zegras without gutting the whole farm (Perreault, Othmann, Berard, picks, etc.). So I don't think that Zegras to NY makes sense unless ANA gets absolutely fleeced.

Zegras is overrated. They'd be lucky to get that much

What people don’t realize about this trade - Schneider is the piece, not Kakko.

That's a fairly inexpensive hole to fill.

Schneider is the best defensive "prospect" (He's started young and technically is a regular now) that the Rangers have, and has untapped potential. Trading him for a struggling player in Zegras who likely does not fit the culture would be a terrible move, as the player replacing Schneider would be worse and would cause many other issues. I don't see any world where he is traded, as his potential alone is worth keeping him on the team.
