I don’t know why Boston wants a RHD.
But this trade could work for both sides.

Considering every season one of mcavoy or Carlo or both go down with an injury for usually 8+ games it could help having a guy who can play top 4 minutes and not be out of place.

I don’t mind fabbro as a solid 2 way guy for us.

No point in hanifin until we know what lohrei is gonna be.
If lohrei is just a #5 dman then wait till next UFA and go for someone like Slavin, Theodore, Chychrun, Provorov, Gavrikov, Pettersson

I agree, or sign someone like Zadorov

Mcavoy needs his Jake muzzin next to him like doughty had. Obviously this is just my thinking but lohrei and Mcavoy don’t mesh together as they both want to jump into the play. You assemble this dcore to have for the next 4 years and eventually lindholm with natural old age will be taken over by lohrei

Hanifin isn’t Muzzin though.
Muzzin was a shutdown dman who blocked a lot of shots and hit hard.

Hanifin is just a more refined and better lohrei.
He’s a 2 way dman who’s more offensively inclined, that’s why he was partner with Tanev for so long before andersson

If Boston wants a Muzzin for mcavoy then they should sign someone cheaper for 1-2 yrs like martinez or Brodie, their games better reflect what Muzzin did for doughty

We also have to plan for lindholm to be a top 4 dman till his contract is up, I doubt boston plays a 6.5 mill dman in the bottom pair playing less then 20 minutes a night, if anything lindholm should just become straight defensive like he was in Anaheim and become mcavoys muzzin

Hanifin would be a tremendous add and you could put Lohrei as a 3rd line defender. That isn’t a bad thing at all. I’d almost rather see what Regula could do at right D and use Grz as the 7th.

Not for Nashville. Trotz would 100% ask for more.

BOS not pursuing top C options during the off-season would be extremely disappointing, especially with all the cap space they have.

What top center options are out there? Lindholm IF he makes it to FA sure. Are you giving him 9+ mil? That’s more money than Horvat and scheifele (both 8.5) hertl maybe becomes available in offseason has 7 more years at 8.1 he won’t be cheap and has a full NMC might not want to come here. What other options?
