Why would Colorado do this?
This trade doesn’t make sense.
If I was the GM of Colorado, I would get a player like Lindholm, for instance.

Girard isn’t a fit for the Canucks, and the Avs should target a 2C instead of a winger

Raaty is probably worth a lower second early 3rd. That doesn't make up for the Girard difference though.

Avs decline. We need a 2C, and the value is just off. Plus Sammy G would be out of place in VAN

For all that is good please stop putting Drouin at center, he has really gelled at wing with Mack and Mikko, and Colton has supplanted RyJo as the 2c. Throw in the last thing COL needs is a winger especially an overpriced under producing one and putting MacDermid at D where Bednar doesn’t play him anymore and the roster is worse than before and it doesn’t even take into account that VAN doesn’t really need Girard.
