no point in trading low on xhekaj. If he is traded it will probably be next year.

Value is probably fine but habs have no reason to take this. We're not competing but you could probably have him for some picks

Montreal passes. I don't see any of those pieces separately or in aggregate being worth it for Montreal to move Xhekaj, nor would adding improve the offer unless the add was something that defeated the purposes of including those pieces.

That is a no. Matt G even retained has no place on our blue line the left side is solid, so in this scenario at the very least a 3rd team would be brought in. Harrison simply isn't good enough, we don't need more future bottom 6 forwards that are 2-3 years away. Honestly based on your prospects ( not including Poitras) I don't think there is anyone that would interest the habs so I think the conversation begins and ends at your only available 1st round pick, which they would flip at the draft as a part of a bigger package hopefully.

Holy a first. Don’t you think that’s a lot. How about a second and Grzelcyk half retained. Does that work??

Possibly, I honestly don't know what Grzelyck can get us on the open market half retained. If we can flip him at the deadline for a 3rd or 4th ( or equivalent) then I think this has a possibility.

I realize Xhekaj can fight, but can he actually play. I haven’t been impressed in the few times I’ve watched him, but curious what Habs fans think.

I’m not a huge fan of adding an AHL caliber player that can fight much less giving assets for him. I could be missing something because I rarely watch the Habs at all which is sad.

value wise its fair but players like Xhekaj aren't too common and trading one to a rival team would be one of the worst things Montreal could do, especially for a player we don't need because we already have so many young dmen that Xhekaj isn't even in the NHL, taking on another NHL dman doesn't make sense unless there is another trade shipping him off immediately, and a 2nd isn't bad but like I said players like Xhekaj are so rare it'd have to be a return too good to pass on for Montreal

Why would Boston want to downgrade from Gryz?
