I don't know Mealfinder.

Most of Leafs Nation on CFACGM believes Ferraro to be hot garbage.

Yet he seems to always end up playing in the Leafs top 4?🤭

That's a fair offer for Ferraro.

I'd like to keep him but that might be an offer I can't refuse.

That’s pretty crazy. He is a stud on a bad team with 3 years left at a good AAV. I think I gave fair value for him but only works if they are able to move Brodie

Devils seem to make the most sense with Hamilton on IR for probably the rest of the season

Does Brodie replace Smith when Dougie returns in the playoffs?

He really doesn't have any stats or even the eye test that supports him being top 4. Dealfinder loves to make bad trades and pander to fans of other teams so it's not surprising he throws ridiculous assets out the window. Afterall he is strictly here to troll leaf fans.

Ferraro is an NHLer for sure but a top 4 guy is likely not what he is. He's certainly getting caved in all the time in San Jose. His advanced numbers are really bad. Some point it Benoit as an example as why Ferraro would be good. But Benoit is still just a 3rd pair guy in TO. Ferraro is better sure but still isn't supplanting anyone in the top 4

Ferraro would definitely be in the Leafs top 4. Smarten up. 🤭

I think you may be mistaken sir. He's not replacing Rielly or McCabe in the top 4 left side. And he hasn't been as effective as Brodie or Liljegren who are the RD. He's replace Gio though who I don't think Keefe would ever sit.

Yeah you'd probably go

Siegenthaler- Nemec
Brodie- Hamilton
Hughes- Marino

I'm not mistaken at all. Brodie is regressing fast and Liljegren falls down too much. LOL

But I'll agree that Gio will never sit. Especially in the playoffs.

Liljegren is playing very well. Finally getting a chance to prove he's a top 4 defenceman. Brodie is regressing for sure but he still gets much better results than Ferraro.

I understand he's not the reason why San Jose is so bad defensively but it's clear he isn't capable of going up against top competition every night. And spending Cowan and a 1st for a guy who isn't a shutdown defenceman is a waste of assets. Not really the move TO needs.

Absolutely. It’s tough to give up Cowan but you’re solidifying your D and with term. That has much more value than another scoring winger, which we have plenty of

That’s pretty accurate but Gio gets exploited against fast forechecking teams. Losing a step. I’d give him a game or two but see what happens from there

McCabe plays well on the right side. Him and Ferraro would make a nice shut down pair

Actually...Devils go as Nico goes. Or as Bratt goes.

Our success is far more determined by whether Hischier or Bratt are in lineup that when Hughes is in there.

It’s not that he’s “hot garbage” it’s that’s he’s overrated in this site. In reality he’s a third pair defenceman and he’s getting glorified because he’s playing decent on one of the worst defensive teams in NHL history. Teams aren’t going to overspend to get him.

Cowan isn’t available in trade talks. And San Jose isn’t getting a teams top prospect for Ferraro because there ain’t much upside to him. The best comparison would be the Jake McCabe trade to Toronto which was a 1st, 2nd, and 2 AHL players with little to no value at all and McCabe came 50% retrained.

Leafs aren’t really interested in moving their 2024 1st and they don’t have 2nds for awhile so realistically speaking the teams don’t line up well for a trade.

Seattle wouldn't be interested in that trade. Borgen's an important part of the Kraken defense, both for now and the future. Meanwhile, they have a surplus of wingers now that Burakovsky and Schwartz are back, so much so that Yamamoto, a player who would be a lineup lock on many other teams, has been getting scratched lately. Robertson in all likelihood wouldn't be able to crack the Kraken's starting lineup.
