Would a 2nd instead of Bourgault be enough? I don't think it would be wise to give up that many assets to move Campbell, probably be better off buying him out in the offseason.

Kakko isn't being traded for a rental, nor is he going to be used to dump Goodrow. Come on bro

The fact you even bring up Bedard in the context of Kaapo is laughable.

Raddysh isn't a rental, he's an RFA and today is better than KK, who has an amazing 3 points in 20 games. Hawks take a flyer on KK to see if change of scenery helps him while NYR gets rid of an awful contract and gets a better player today that is still young and can help them this season and the foreseeable as their cup window is open.

Kakko last year outperformed Raddysh’s career best when he was younger than Raddysh ever was in the NHL. You claim that Raddysh is better, but he was a rookie with 12 points in 53 games when he was the age Kakko is now. The Rangers are selling low on a young player in a slump for an older player with a lower ceiling in order to offshoot a contract that could easily be bought-out this summer. This is a bad proposal.

Really? Raddysh had 20 goals on a terrible team while Kakko had 18 on a great team playing on top of the lineup and is back to his old self with 3 points in 20 games. Raddysh never played that bad.

Kakko spent the vast majority of last season on the third line with Lafreniere and Chytil, and Raddysh also had 3 points in his first 20 games when he was a year older than Kakko is now. You should maybe try doing some quick research before you throw out nonsense.

Kakko played on the third line for most of last year on a team that was decent but not great

Leafs would need Murphy 50% retained, Dickinson is a maybe but we’d need a 3rd team to retain as well as I’m sure the hawks wanna keep an extra retention slot after this trade. Tyler Johnson is someone I’d like to try and get in TOR as well.

Rangers don't make that trade. They aren't using Kakko to dump Goodrow. And Hawks don't make that Toronto deal. Robertson barely pays to dump Samsonov. A 1st isn't getting Murphy and Dickinson. That's not even close.

First of all, KK has 5 years in the NHL and Raddysh 4. When Raddysh "played that bad" he was on the bottom line in Tampa...that team was stacked and Tampa was competing and needed a better player and did not have the patience (nor should they) to develop Raddysh...sounds earily familiar to the Ranger with Kappo...except, Kappo has been afforded more opportunity than Raddysh did in Tampa; look at TOI differences.

So, how does your comment help the Rangers out this season and making a run for the cup? Maybe you should try grasping the reality Kappo isn't nearly the player everyone thought he would be when he was drafted and very unlikely he ever will be which doesn't help the Rangers now. Grabbing a player that is clearly playing better is what matters when chasing a cup in addition to getting rid of cap dump while the rangers are competitive makes a lot of sense. But forget this season, or next, focus on the future and hoping Kappo comes around because that makes so much sense!

Dickinson is worth a late 2nd. Murphy, not retained, is worth a 2nd or 2nd and 3rd. Robertson is worth a late 2nd or 3rd. Dumping Sammy would not cost more than a 3rd for the Leafs. The trade works out.

Rangers need 3rd line help and Goodrow is a boat anchor so they get an upgrade with Raddysh and are able to dump a $3.7M cap hit for the next 4 years. Whether they do the trade or not who knows, but the value is there for the rebuilding Hawks to see if they can get something out of KK that's better than Raddys and fits their rebuild better, and the Rangers get a player they can rely on now to compete.

Lol if rangers want Raddysh, they’ll trade picks for him

If he’s such the better player than Kakko, then why trade for Kakko and goodrow lol

No, it would cost (2) late 2nds and either another late 2nd or 3rd to get a late 1st back. Dickinson + Murphy...there's your late 1st. Robertson for dumping Sammy. It's just math

You're missing the point LOL....Rangers need someone who can perform now; Raddysh is playing better than Kappo. Hawks need someone good in 2 more years, Hawks can work on developing Kappo + cap space will help the Rangers...now do you understand the approach? rolling eyes

Seriously? So the Hawks trade Murphy and Dickinson retained for a 1st? That's your math? Again sorry, but that some bad math. No way do the Hawks do this.

Yes, (2) late 2nds, and a late 3rd equal a late 1st....that's not my math...that's what the trade boards say from the pros. They assign value to early, mid and late picks in each round.

Kakko had 18 goals playing on the third line. Not the top of the lineup... Raddysh had 16:00 + minutes per game. Kakko's never gone above 15:30.
Laf is breaking out now that he's getting a consistent 16+ minutes per game on a top line. Kakko just needs time as his game is more defensively structured than Laf's.
We're not moving him for anything but another kid his age or younger.

Lmao let’s not act like Raddysh is a 30 goal scorer here. You’re talking about Kakko’s 1 slow start and eventually got hurt lol

If they want to add Raddysh for the bottom 6, rangers would give you picks and a lesser prospect

There is a reason Kakko hasn't earned the minutes. He's been incredibly streaky and never has broken out. 5 years in the NHL so far and he's a 3rd liner no more so far. Since the Rangers are fighting for a cup, get the better player that has 1 year less in the NHL despite being 1 year older. He would slot in the 3rd line a lot better to compete for the cup.

Lol not every single top 5 pick comes into the league and lights it up. He’s extremely good at defense and puck possession. He’s also on a team where he doesn’t have to be #1 scorer

He’s still only 22 years old with great defense analytics and able to score 40 points at 5v5. Meanwhile people make him out to be a non-NHL player who doesn’t belong in the league lol
