Chris Deredger just had a torn ACL a year ago, His value is worth nowhere near a 4th rounder. He'd be lucky to bring back a 7th.

His AHL numbers are pretty solid this season, I'm a bit surprised too that Driedger's name hasn't been bandied about as an option for one of these many teams looking for goalie help.

Its probably his cap hit which is keeping him out of the trade discussions, would assume Seattle would rather just keep Dreidger for organizational depth then retain on him to get back not a whole lot.

Maybe come closer to the TDL if the Kraken slide out of the playoff race they'll retain and find a taker for him.

Driedger's kind of in a weird spot. He returned from an ACL tear at the start of the season and has essentially played one NHL game in two seasons, meaning it's impossible to get a true gauge on his trade value. Meanwhile, the Kraken need him as a backup for Daccord with Grubauer injured, but who knows what happens when Gru is ready to return.

Long story short, a lot could happen between now and the deadline. It'll be hard to figure out whether Driedger will be available until Grubauer returns and where the Kraken are in the standings at that point, and we won't have a good idea of any potential trade value until he plays some more games.

He makes $3.5m and he’s worth about $1.5m on the open market.
