A 2026 second and a young LHD that hasn’t stuck at the NHL level isn’t exactly enticing.

Broberg for a goalie that is still a backup (as good as he’s been) isn’t worth it? Broberg is not worth where he was drafted but he has an NHL future. Defence is a stubbornly long process to acquire at the NHL level.

1. Overpayment on Krebs but I like dumping Ceci
2. Seems like a good fair deal
3. Dumba isn't the answer

I don't know if Lindgren gets much more than a 2026 2nd

He is our starting goalie, we're way past backup status with Lindgren lol

Given how many teams need a goalie and the options are incredibly limited and Lindgren is one of the best options and by far the cheapest, I think the caps pretty easily pass on this trade lol. We don’t need Broberg at all.

Ceci is a better RHD than pretty much everyone you have that’s right handed on your blueline.

Injuries are, in fact, a thing in hockey

15 games/40 for a 30 year old who's bounced between the AHL and being a backup does not make a starter worth a haul, no matter how good those 15 games are.

Then I sure hope the teams looking for goalies find a better option somewhere else

IF Lindgren holds his play, his value will go up.

Unfortunately that is a VERY large if. How many goalies have been backup/AHL quality for a decade then suddenly turned great at 30 years old. Most years he was under 0.900 in the AHL too.

Meanwhile the list of goalies who’ve had a good 15 game stretch is EXTENSIVE.

Tim Thomas and Craig Anderson off the top of my head. I'm not trying to sit here and say Lindgren is prime Hasek, but a .928 over 53 NHL games in the last 3 years is a little more than a good stretch lmfao
