Does New Jersey need Matheson? They already have one of the top power plays in the league.

Does Any Jet's fan on here actually gauge value of other teams players? Not saying the Jets need Monahan but this is his value, not even a ridiculous over pay, just his basic value

No…it’s not… not even close.
His value is a 2nd, according to TSN….no add… just a 2nd, and we don’t need him or want him, so stop trying to force him on us.
Paying to acquire Monahan is a fail… paying anything more than just a 2nd is the definition of stupid

holtz would not be on the table for Matheson unless the 1st involved is calgarys 1st going to jersey

If you want holtz its

holtz for Montembault+Calgary 1st
Holtz+3rd for Matheson+Calgary 1st
Holtz for Newhook+2nd
Holtz for Roy+Calgary 1st

Thats the price on a guy who scores goals 5v5 at the rate of Monahan Suzuki and Caufield. Combined

Hmmmm thanks for agreeing with me? The trade above is basically just a 2nd because a late pick and Kupari are worthless and I already said Winnipeg didn't need him.

Just addressing your overreaction to a value you actually ended up agreeing with lol

MTLs 2nd is too high… I’m not agreeing with you, but keep reading into things what justifies your dillusions

You’re the ones who set the market with Dach and Newhook trades

Dach the year before his trade:
0.42 goals/60 5v5, 1.08 points/60 5v5

Newhook the year before his trade:
0.66 goals/60 5v5, 1.55 points/60 5v5

Holtz this year:
2.67 points/60 5v5, 1.4 goals/60 5v5

Newhook and Dach COMBINED:
2.63 points/60 5v5, 1.08 goals/60 5v5

And unlike Dach and Newhook who were RFAs, Holtz has 1.5 years left on his ELC

Great, you wanna say the sample size of those numbers? Or the fact that Holtz is sheltered behind a great top 6 that has to face the better defenders?

He's a good prospect, probably gets the same return as Newhook, doesn't get a proven top 4 dman AND a 1st though.

Keep him, he's gonna be a valuable player for NJ but your over valuing still got a laugh out of me

You literally did though by saying he was worth a 2nd..... And right now according to Hughes it's a 2nd and a prospect or a 1st. I'd say the actual GM is a far more reliable source than TSN

The sample size is 40 games. Or I can just use raw numbers

Holtz: 400 minutes 10 5v5 goals 19 5v5 points

To add some perspective

Nick Suzuki 5 5v5 goals 14 points 660 minutes

Caufield 5 goals 12 points 630 minutes

Slaf 3 goals 12 points 590 minutes

Monahan 4 goals 11 points 550 minutes

Newhook 6 goals 9 points 320 minutes

Dach (last year when he “broke out”) 8 goals 18 points 800 minites

The GM trying to convince people to pay for Monahan is the least trustworthy source I could possibly imagine for his value

Just curious why do none of the habs who play against easier competition produce?

Why is nobody on the habs even close to holtz in production?

He's actually played against tougher competition than Newhook did? Why didn't newhook produce against easy comp in Colorado?
