Im not trading a potential top 10 pick for Zegras. People need to start looking at future draft classes before trading that years pick. Anyone in that top 10 in 2025 is superior to Zegras. Its gonna be one of the deepest classes since 2015.

I don’t see it. The Ducks don’t need Defence. The 1st is looking like a top 7 pick. Owen Beck is playing like a 1st. So it’s pretty fair considering Zegras is a centre that doesn’t play defence. The Flyers offered Gauthier for Reinbacher at the draft and were turned down. Gauthier is the better prospect, hence Zegras being shopped.

You're right, Z isn't a prospect, he's a developing young player who led his team in scoring last year, and was second the year prior, so he's more valuable.

I get where you’re coming from. But Zegras wasn’t a top 5 and wouldn’t be in a re-draft. Reinbacher was and would be again. You’re over evaluating a Left winger who’s had to play Centre.

Errson who’s played 19 of 43 games and is the probable Calder trophy leading goaltender (not skater) in the league, has great stats and a big reason why rebuilding philly is 3rd in the metro, and with a capable sandstrom and cal Petersen in minors. so why would PHi want/need Allen or even give you a 3rd?

If that's ANA's actual stance, then negotiation's end there I guess. Hughes reportedly refused pretty massive offers for the 5th pick (Reinbacher), I don't see how Zegras would change Hughes stance on Reinbacher.

If ANA are hell bent on wanting a RD. I could see a deal revolving around Barron or Mailloux + the Habs 2024 1st (probably around the top 10 range) that would most likely be used to pick another Dman (Zeev Buium or Zayne Parekh). You might disagree, but a Barron + Buium for Zegras type deal seems more than enough. I'm not even sure I'd want to do that deal as a Habs fan...

There are multiple redrafts that disagree with you on that, most of them have him going in the top 3 his draft year. Guys like Kakko and Dach certainly aren't in front of him, nor is Caufield.



And as I, and everyone credible reporting on it have said, he's not being shopped. Yeah, I'm sure his name has come up, I'm sure other GMs are interested in him, in the same way every GM in the league is interested in any top player. Negotiations end there, fine, we keep him, we have two spots at LW in the top 6, Gauthier can have one, and Zegras the other.

The whole reason we got Gauthier was we needed more scoring. Zegras has been 1st and 2nd in team scoring the last two years, so why would a team desperate for more scoring send out their leading scorer for a grab bag of lesser assets?
