Flyers don't really have a glaring need for Girard considering they are currently cycling 7 defensemen. What they do need is top-line center or top-line defensemen. Can't see them moving Frost + high draft picks for another 2nd pair defensemen.

Girard being expendable is such a tired take (i've been there, too, but i converted to la tornade). We've played better with Girard back in the lineup. To be honest, his absence was more noticeable than Byram's.

I don’t hate the Girard trade you just don’t trade top 4 dmen when you’re a contender especially when other guys like Byram and Manson have such an extensive injury history. I’d rather have Allen at that price than Ned, but any upgrade over Prosvetov is welcome.

I’d argue that Byram has been worse than both Girard and Manson this year. Surprising.

Girard plays a key role on this team and would be big shoes to fill. Cup contenders don’t trade 20 minute a night defensemen
