Toffoli is the better pure scorer, but he lacks a lot of the intangibles that Foegele brings, that are very valuable come playoff time. Moving a 1st for a slight upgrade in scoring and a downgrade in energy, physicality, and chemistry just doesn’t seem worth it if you ask me. That pick can be better used to upgrade on Ceci.

And why would Oilers sell him when he’s finally looking to break out in a big way. He’s been good to great all year. You keep the big bodied, big, fast winger who can produce in a middle 6 role and has great chemistry with Mcleod, and is part of core of McDavid during off season training. Keep him, and hope that he resigns next year at a reasonable rate on a team he likes.

Toffoli is a fine finisher and he does make a lot of sense at a top 6 RW which is what the Oilers need. But the oilers are high work rate team and Toffoli can lack in that area. Still a deal for him makes some sense, but not for Foegele++

If we fall out…I could see NJD having more interest in Broberg and/or Kemp.

If we're going for one of Calgary's assets I'd hope it's Andersson, could move Ceci, Janmark, 2 1sts and another prospect for him.
It's expense but MASSIVE upgrade to our defense.
