That is helping the sens with their current salary cap and also gives them leadership with Monahan and Savard. This team learn how to lose in the last couple of years. It's time to learn how to win.

Sure if the sens are trading Norris and Chabot in two different trade probably they can get more asset back. But these asset will be used to get rid of Korpisalo. Also they will not be able to resing Pinto and Chychrun.

1. We are not giving Pinto 6 million.

2. Re-signing Chychrun doesn't depend on getting rid of Chabot.

3. Norris + Chabot >>>>> Monahan + Savard.

4. You're making us wait until 2026 for the 1st round pick.

5. This trade is made within the division.

6. Monahan would rather sign with a playoff team.

We have 13 million in capspace this offseason with like 2 players to re-sign and a couple contracts they can get out of with cheap buyouts. Thats more than enough to sign veteran presences without giving up chabot and norris

So Habs get two overpaid injury prone players and a mediocre backup goalie.

After everything that has gone on Pinto probably signs really cheap.

Helping the Sens?

lol this is absolutely terrible

I wouldn't pick up Monahan or Savard on waivers.

Monahan has the 5th worst xGA/60 in the NHL among forwards with at least 200 ES minutes. Kubalik has the 139th worst and I can't stand his game

Savard is a bit better (lol) with only the 6th worst xGA/60 in the NHL among D-men with at least 200 ES minutes. Hamonic is 29th and I don't want to see him an additional minute

Norris is not back to form yet but the guy has a similar career GPG to Cole Caufield plus before his injury he was a top line 2-way center (with much better defensive metrics than Suzuki). It's way too early to give up on him

Chabot has been one of the elite transitional D-men for years, 17th best PPG among D-men since 2017-18, 2nd in TOI/GP

Jake Allen is also not very good, only good thing about him is he has 3 years less than Korpisalo... But don't want to be stuck with Allen next season

All of Allen, Monahan and Savard are of ZERO interest

I would rather than you just remove them from the equation but even then, the Sens are not going to GIVE AWAY Chabot and Norris to dump Korpisalo's contract and get a 1st round pick in 2.5 years

They could just go for the easy solution and buyout Korpisalo if he isn't fixed (they could wait another year)

Even a 4 year deal shouldn’t cost more than 3-3.2 mill

by getting some of the worst defensive players in the NHL?

They could have kept Zaitsev then instead of paying picks to move the contract

Easily.

Tarasenko + Kubalik : 7.5 AAV out
Dead cap money (some of Dorion mistakes) : 5.0 AAV out

Chychrun will get at MOST a 3 M$ raise and Pinto will most likely get a bridge contract.

Greig is a guy who will cost money, but by the time you have to give him more, other contracts expire and the cap continues to raise.

They fired Dorion just in time (well 4 seasons too late for me, same for DJ)

That's what I was thinking he has to get back into he teammates good graces and signing a team friendly deal and working hard is a good start.

I still think the league needs update rules pertaining to sports betting. If they aren't betting on hockey I don't have a problem with it.
