Can't do the Grzelcyk deal without a replacement. Lohrei isn't ready for NHL playoff duty. They sheltered him so much when he was in boston, and that can't happen in the playoffs.

Also, the hole in the top six isn't really an issue. By all means if you can plug it without making the blue line incredibly thin, go for it. This team is worse than it was before the trade.

Its a fair offer, but I think Ottawa would prioritize getting a 1st this year, and Ottawa already has Boston's 1st.

I'm intrigued by Merkulov, even though he was undrafted he seems to be doing well in the AHL.

Move Frederic full time to the first line with Pasta and promote Lysell to replace him on the third line with Geekie and JVR. Done.

Huge no from Bs perspective imo. Tarasenko is awful defensively and wouldn't fit in well with the Bruins. I honestly would hesitate to pay a 2nd, let alone a 1st, a 4th, and a prospect. Plus having to trade Gryz who pairs so nicely with McAvoy just to acquire his cap hit? Just doesn't make sense to me.

With our current cap position, I’d rather see us go with internal options. I do think trying him or Poitras on the third line is better than giving up future assets to get a one year fill in,

Trading a first for Tarasenko make very little sense to me. I’d rather give Frederic the shot at LW on the Pasta line. See what internal options can do or acquire a 3rd line winger if they can’t step up.

Moving Frederic opposite Zacha / Pasta should be that primary line with the flexibility to adjust when matchups dictate

Where are they now? I’ve seen different variations. Are you suggesting JVR with Zacha/Pasta and Geekie/frederic together? I thought when they moved Frederic up against Carolina, he looked like he belonged in the top 6

My guess is Lysell is going to get a shot before the end of the year if he keeps playing like this in Providence

I would agree its probably too rich for Taraksenko given his NTC limits the teams that are going to be in the running for him, but I think hes shown pretty decently defensively this year. The effort is there and I think the positioning is okay, he just doesn't necessarily have the poise or the defensive stick to generate a lot of turnovers

Agree. I’m just saying that Frederic has played well enough that I don’t believe we need to acquire a top 6 player at all.

Others have played well enough that they can replace him on the 3rd line including one player in Providence.
