The Caps package is the best of the bunch and yet they’re getting less than the Habs.

Why is Dvorak on LTIR? You’re trading a bad deal (Johansen) for a worse one (Dvorak) and then giving up two solid prospects and a first for Monahan. Bad deal.

And then he comes back next year and you have to trade a top 4 defenseman because you saddled yourself with a bad contract.

So bringing it back to your point.

The Avs give up a 1st to dump Johansen. And then they take on a more expensive center.

Now they have a more expensive center on the roster and they just kinda… hope he stays injured enough so they can use LTIR and remain cap compliant through 2025?

Montreal %100 accepts. We get our first, a couple of decent prospects and we move on from Dvorak. Sure Ryjo is overpaid but it’s not like Hugo doesn’t have the cap to work with and we’ll need a center. Who knows? Maybe he bounces back under MSL and someone will pay an asset for him next TDL if the Habs retain half his salary.

Gonna take more than 2 AHLers a 3rd and a 4th for the Caps' two best trade pieces. I'm once again shocked how many Avs ACGMS trade for Dowd giving up less than a second for him given that's exactly what they paid last year for a worse, more expensive, rental player in Eller last year.

Dowd and Lindgren combined for the 24 1st
