Why are we trading sami and Gregor, also there I think it will take more to get all that from Calgary

Sammy for cap, so we can upgrade our D.
Gregor, to get a more physical guy. I like Gregor but I do believe our lineup is missing a bit of toughness. Blais would be a better option. Gregor wouldn't clear waivers, so he goes the other way.
As for Tanev, fair enough. This is the only way I am happy giving up the 1st though.

I'd prefer giving up kampf over Gregor, I think if Sami can fully bounce back he should stay, and trade brodie and get nick seeler fron phily, and ilya lyubuskin from Anaheim, then try and get sean monahan, from the Canadian with a resign aswell

I really like what Kampf brings to the team.
Brodie is our 2nd best dman right now (which is part of the problem). But I don't want to ship him off.

Seelers would be fine. Busckin is a #7 or #8 dman. We don't need him. Monahan would be a good add but I think he will cost close to a 1st. Doubt he resigns since Tre used him as a cap dump not long ago.

Sammy could very well bounce back. But then we don't get Oleksiak here. Would rather get the huge dman than keep sammy.

That Calgary trade, Here Conroy take our spare parts for very valuable assets. I know you're getting f***ed in this deal but lay back and enjoy it. Seattle easily get better offers elsewhere if they sell.

Leafs are probably worse with those trades. Jones has come back to earth and it sure looks like the Leafs need Samsonov.
Interesting that Tanev is the fourth best Dman on the out of playoffs Flames, but suddenly he's a top pairing with the Leafs.

Hawks just extended Mrazek which means it is highly unlikely he gets traded. Two late round picks is not enough inducement for them to now take on Samsonov and create a logjam and frustration for their current goalies.

Brodie and Tanev are very comparable. Tanev is an upgrade over Lily and Timmins. He would be a low end option to help stabilize our top 4.

Jones and Sammy have barely had any games played to justify that. Goaltending is such a crap shoot. Sammy has high end potential and I am glad he has been playing well. I like him a lot. But I would not trust to sign him long term at this point.
