Dont see Boston going for this

Why would Boston trade a young vezina candidate for anything nevermind a 2nd line winger who needs a new contract.

Linus Ullmark will be on the trade block not Jeremy Swayman, And sorry a pending UFA isn't getting you a pending RFA like Swayman Carolina needs to add vastly more to that trade.

1. Jeremy Swayman can't be traded per the rules of the CBA
2. this is like 10% of the value boston would need.

Lol yeah not even close for Swayman... probably not even available. If you want to get Boston's attention on Swayman, start with Necas and add some other pieces.

Among goalies w/ at least 100gp since the '20-'21 season Swayman ranks 2nd in SV%, 1st in GAA & 8th in Shutouts. He just turned 25yrs old and he's already in the top tier of goalies in the NHL.

Turbo over the same timeframe and compared to LW's ranks: 41st in goals, 23rd in assist & 28th in points. Among RW's he's 41st in goals, 28th in assist & 31st in points. Don't get me wrong, Turbo is a solid player who makes a top 6 better.....but he's not worth giving up a 25yr old goalie whose already a Vezina candidate.

No goalie has ever returned a 70 point winger. You're not getting Necas for Swayman, especially not Necas +. I agree this isn't enough, but your take is just as off base the other way

Ehh he was a 70 point winger once... he's on pace for 55 points this year. I don't think he is going be a consistent 70-80 point player in the league. IMO he will be 55-65 point player. Moot point either way because Swayman isn't available.

He's going to get closer to the 70 point mark again, he started slowly, and has been a point per game for the last bit here. He's going to be a consistent 70 point winger, and Swayman will not return that, there's no precedent for it. It's never happened before because goalies do not hold that kind of value.

I’d do Ullmark and Lysell for Necas and Raanta, but that is a tough deal for both teams with a high risk on both sides

I can’t think of the last goalie with Swayman’s age and production level who has ever been traded. Boston isn’t trading him. I’d be surprised if he is not extended during the year
