Flames take that and run. They had to pay a 1st to trade Monahan's 6.3×1. Trading a 2nd for dumping Huberdeau's 10.5x7? Yes please

Calgary accepts very quickly.
Leafs pass very quickly. I believe Brodie and Tanev would have very similar value on the open market. At 50% retention they COULD get a 1st. But more than likely a 2nd + 3rd or so. We will see what Tanev gets.

This is horrible for Chicago, especially the Calgary one. Chicago wouldn't except taking on Huberdeau for even a lottery pick! He's going on 31 years old with 8 years at a $10.5M cap hit and for the 2nd year in a row on pace for under 60 points! He's not earning his contract now (not even close) and is not going to get better as age making his contract probably one of the worst one's in the NHL in just a few years from now.

Horrible. The Blackhawks should be getting a lot more than just a 2nd round pick for letting the Flames off the hook of Huby's contract.

Worst contract in the NHL and you think the price of getting someone to eat 7 years of it is a 2nd round pick, huh.
