Thank you for being a realist. I'm sure there's a trade to be had as long a both teams keep things in perspective. Vancouver's #1 goal is to gain cap space while attempting to maximize Kuzmenko's return but the emphasis is on the cap space. I don't view him as a pure cap dump so something between a 3rd or 4th is what I personally feel is what Chicago would value him as. Maybe a pick and a "B" prospect like Teply or Hardman. Maybe even the rights to Basse although I hope he's signed after his season ends.

Ya that's kind of the range I'd expect as well. Obviously as a Canucks fan I hope someone likes him enough to give a 2nd but I think that is a long shot. I'm fine with whatever we can get just to allow for other moves with the cap and roster space.

Canucks are keeping Zadorov and Kuzmenko.
Chicago can find someone else that’s better than Kuzmenko.

As someone who doesn't want or see a need for a player like Kuzmenko, I don't think we should even consider paying for him. If VAN comes to KD and says "We need to move Kuzmenko's contract to make some other moves and we are willing to pay for it." Then i think that is something CHI should absolutely have interest in.

I won't act like an expert on the internal workings of CHI's front office, though. I could see a scenario where KD could see things differently and be willing to buy him on the cheap. Which if it is something like a 3rd or later and/or a cheap depth player, I think that would be acceptable. But anything more just isn't a move a rebuilding team like CHI should be making, for various reasons.

If we are selling Toffoli, it wouldn’t be for rental dman.
