The depth is getting kinda crazy. IMO, the only changes I would attempt to make for a perfect run and being true top 3 contenders for the cup would be to try and find a slightly more top 6 guy than Suter, and try and find another middle of the pack RD. The team would then be perfect imo. If not, still tier 1 contenders

I'm surprised you're not a fan of the trade. A first rounder, two juniors that may never be NHLers, and you got rid of Kuzmenko 5.5m cap next season. Think the Canucks did very well.

This is a great deal for the Canucks. You need to separate yourself from the Benning era and realize that the Canucks are actually good and not just a bubble team

Big gamble. After some reflection look what PA has done already. If he resigns him at a reasonable price the trade isnt bad.just my opinion.

The 32nd pick, a struggling forward (+term/cap), none of the top prospects.

Sure Brz is doing well. But I wouldn't stress it. They just had scout meetings so I imagine this was an internal decision that the team is okay with. Willander, McWard, Woo and Johansson are still in the prospect pool. All of them are more likely to have a role over Brz given Hughes and Hronek driving PP.

It's really not. Even if the Canucks lose in the 1st round that pick is gonna in the 24-27 range

Lindholm is in a down year, so your concern is certainly valid. I think it's a home run for CGY. Kuzmenko has a high ceiling in the right situation and could easily net them another 1st rounder next year. They didn't have to use a retention slot, and got a top prospect and 1st back. This was Vancouver's best way to get out of the Kuzmenko contract, it also saves them some cap as well. An older swede to take Petey under his wing as well, could be a nice little negotiation ploy from Allvin as well.

No thanks. Kuzmenko is a keeper. Calgary should trade Lindholm to Boston or Colorado 😉

Yeah, I know.
But, still, it's a fair trade by both sides.
Kuzy fits well with the Calgary players and he can bond well with Sharangovich, who has the same agent as him.

I agree in so far it’s a steep price to pay for Lindholm. It always hurts to part with a 1st RD pick AND a good RD prospect for a rental, but you’re also dumping Kuzys cap hit. It’s very expensive to create cap space in this NHL trade economy, so using Bruz to grease the wheels in this deal is good value, especially for where he was drafted.
