2024 trade deadline for fun

Created by: nepTrystan
Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2024
Published: Feb. 1, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hey guys, i know 31 fanbase never agrees but idc i just want to make one for fun and see where it goes.

Monahan could get better, especially from a team like the rangers, but the feud between Gorton and the Rangers organization makes it less possible.

The Allen deal well they are not a lot of goalies on the market, and the experience + the leadership of allen is really good. The dump of Johanson is gonna cost, so thats why its steep.

For the harris trade, welp i think the habs kinda need to trade him now, even if the returns is not great since ts a logjamm and they need to play at least one of Hutson (when bcu is over) or mailloux for the end of the season. The stars get the advantage of getting him cheap.

Pearson is the type of guy Lou likes, so for me its a perfect match.

Please answer with respect, we dont have all the same opinion. I know no ones gonna like my ideas, just be respectful.

I planned on doing a full like Monahan trade list with what could be the return, he is in my eyes the biggest foward since Lindholm is gone, because of his position (Center) , but also his deal 2M$ (i know injuries but Lindholm has also this issue and cgy got a lot either way)
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Gunler, Noel
  2. Suzuki, Ryan
  3. 2024 1st round pick (CAR)

So = monahan = 1rst and Gunler
Stephens and a 3rd = Ryan Suzuki
CAR

Would you retain on Allen? I dont think hes worth 3.85M so without retention I think they would look elsewhere

Canes laugh at you. Stephens isn't worth a 1st or Suzuki, and you're not getting a 1st for Monahan

This is not how the trade is

Its : Monahan for Gunler and a 1rst
Stephens ans a 3rd for Suzuki

Suzuki is not an nhl caliber yet, but he's still having upsides. Monahan is gonna cost a lot, idk the exact value of gunler, but its either a top prospect + sweetner or 1rst + good prospect

You're going to be brutally disappointed when you get a conditional 2nd for Monahan. He's got too many injuries in his past to justify a Lindholm package. Canes decline

He's gonna get a lot, i just think he fits more on the canes (or the rangers, but with the feud between gorton and the rangers..)

Btw tell me what center rn is a 2nd line center avaible, the answer is : no one

The market is for sellers, i dont think normally monahan would get that much, but because of the market, definitively

Henrique, possibly Mikael Granlund, Phily are listening to offers on Laughton, all of which are probably more valuable than Monahan

Laughton is interesting, but the flyers are in a playoffs spot, soo i dont think they gonna trade for just future

Henrique is more expensive by a lot in term of salary, not a lot of team have the cap space to do so, and if they need to send a cap dump/retain salary its not gonna be interesting, especially since monahan is better

Granlund... should not be your 2nd line center, hes okay but expensive, monahan again is better

The only one who's really better was lindholm, and he's already gone, and calgary got a lot for

Remember that cap space is huge, and only a 2m$ salary is worth a lot

You don’t honestly think that’s equivalent to a Lindholm package, do you?

Lol, many insiders (ex: Pierre Lebrun with TSN) said that Montreal will gonna receive a 1st round pick as a minimal price, and somes of them said that the Lindholm trade can make a massive overbidding at the TDL......

Did you know that any GM's in the league have the acces of all the medical reports on each players in the league ? If Monahan haved a issue about his health right now, the other GM's will not gonna be interested AND the reporters (who have contacts with somes executives members of each teams) will NOT gonna said that Monahan is REALLY in the trade market.

Ah and a last point, I remember somes peoples who belive that Montreal will never received somes high return for players like Toffoli, Kulak, Chiarot, Lehkonen, etc., but ALL of them have been wrong when the trade comes.............. Just stop to make the same mistake each season...........

The cap dump who scored 40 goals last year yeah. It’s also lacking quality in the prospects. And it includes 2 additional pieces to the team acquiring Monahan that the Lindholm trade did not.

They got a 3rd for Kulak, 2nds for Lehkonen, Florida overpaid for Chairot, and Toffoli was actually worth a 1st. No reporter has suggested that Monahan will return a 1st. He's a 3C, when was the last time a 3C returned a 1st? He's got a long history of injuries, and that's going to play a factor too. If you think you'll get a 1st, you're nuts

Oh no, 40 goals in a career year where he shot 27%????? Who could have seen that it was unsustainable! Kuzmenko was being healthy scratched, he's a cap dump. This has prospects of similar quality to the Lindholm deal. Yes, Stephens and the 3rd are in this deal, Carolina don't want either, so they hold no value to the Canes

Montreal got a 2nd and a 7th for Kulak, and they drafted one of the best prospect with this pick (Lane Hutson)....................

Montreal got Barron, who was a top prospect at the time...........

you have the phone log? I doubt he would want a guy like this. How does this help the Isles? Another 4th liner.
