Feel like that offer gets beaten fairly easily. It's fairly comparable to Lindholm trade (especially if the 2nd is only for retention since Lindholm's trade didn't have any), and Konecny is at the moment the superior player of the two, and he has another year left on his contract to boot.

If you want that sort of player with hefty retention to boot, you're gotta give something bit more substantial than this imo.

TK isn't having a career year, and it's well known Torts would like to move on from him. That will affect his value.

That being said, those are not whatever prospects and cap dumps. Kulak and Janmark are worth their cap hits. Bourgault and Petrov have had a disappointing year in bako but they were highly rated prospects before that

I just feel like Torts not loving him will effect is value. They'd probably have an offer like this lined up from a couple contenders, or a middle of the pack team could offer a much better prospect but not much else

That pathetic offer isn't getting you Travis Konecny retained, It's a bunch of scrubs with basically no value going to Philly.

Who knows. I doubt Briere will move the needle unless he gets an offer that blows his pants away, and we haven't seen what kind of GM he is during the deadline. Konecny is atm the best asset Flyers have in their roster, they are in no hurry to move him.

Also, imo "coach not liking a player X" is a very subjective factor to add in a value discussion of a player. That doesn't really have anything to do with the player himself. At best, it's a miniscule nuance factor that might affect the players numbers slightly negatively due to not being played enough or in a wrong type of role.

That said, that package is still too much for Konecny. Oilers fans need some perspective, essentially you are trading for Prime Eberle when he was young and had hype. Would you send that many figures for Prime Eberle?

What they were rated as before has no bearing on what they are rated as now. Here’s a great example of that: Nail Yakupov. Drafted 1OA, yet he busted. By the logic you are using, Yakupov must still be worth a 1st round pick, just because he was selected in the 1st round. A coach’s position on player is irrelevant in this scenario. Besides, I don’t know what sources you have been using, but I have nothing but good things from Torts about TK.

As for Kulak and Janmark, they may as well be worth their cap hits, but they are dumps here, since even with retention, both of their contracts have to be moved in order to fit under the cap.

No joke, I don't think EDM has the right pieces for a Konecny deal. I think a few teams easily beat any EDM best possible offer.

I listened to that podcast and I took that Philly was going to sign Konechny to an extension from it. Off hand mention that teams might be interested in him.
