Orlov's better than Pettersson, in every category. Petterson is a fine top 4 D man. He's good. Orlov walks onto almost any teams top pairing.

Orlov is literally on your 3rd paring right now playing only 16 minutes a night. He gets almost twice as many offensive zone starts compared to D zone starts. He is sheltered by two other D pairs and zone starts. Pettersson meanwhile actually plays top pair, over 22 minutes a night, twice as many Dzone starts as Ozone starts, heavily relied on PK'er and good producer of offense at 5v5. I wouldn't trade him 1 for 1.

Orlov's on the third pairing because Skjei and Slavin are also top pairing caliber D men, it's not an indication of his play. Orlov gets a lot of O zone starts, but every Canes D pairing does because they Canes dominant O zone pressure. If you're trying to argue that TOI is the deciding factor, you're beyond help.

And weve repeatedly said we wouldnt do this 1 for 1, all pens fans would stand by that. Wrd much rather have MP. It's funny how much you're over hyping Orlov right now.

Orlov's simply better. If your entire fanbase is delusional, that's nice, but not my fault.

Hes really not. 16 minutes vs 22 minutes, think about that. Hes also a trooper on the PK.

He also plays with Letang, who inflates totals, compared to Orlov who plays with Chatfield. Orlov's hands down better

Orlov has better defensive numbers, lol and Chatfield isn't an NHL quality defenseman, and Orlov's still better

You fail to recognize my point. Pettersson is a highly used defensive presence who has high end underlying numbers and top pair production at 5v5. So despite his usage and heavy reliance on D he still manages to put up points at a top pair rate with great defensive metrics. If you think I was only using TOI as a deciding factor you should really get some reading comprehension help.

Yet, he's inferior to Orlov in every facet of the game, if you can't admit that, stop replying because you're just wrong lol

Orlov isn't remotely close to the defensive presence that Pettersson is. It's a joke you can even think that. The only thing Orlov has on MP is a great shot, Pettersson can barely hit the net.

he also plays with Letang who throws the puck back into his own net. Oh wait...that argument didn't work so well lol

since we all know the penguins aren't doing the MP trade.
Lets also point out that the penguins don't need to take cap back on Ned and get at least a 3rd for him. There are probably 3 other teams willing to do that right now.

True but small sample size. Then had bad 6 games this season and will be coming back from an injury. Wouldn't bank on him.

Came off an injury when he had a .930... he also notoriously hates the month of October

Banking on a 34yo coming back like that is risky to say the least.

Is it though? He's shown he's a starting caliber goaltender when he's available, and age isn't such a factor at this point for netminders. It is when they get the other side of 35, but they play longer because they tend not to get starting jobs until their late 20s. I'd much rather bank on Freddie than make a panic move for a mediocre goalie like Allen, Lindgren, or Jones.

Well 2 of those are mediocre, that's for sure. Good luck!

The Caps don't touch that with a 50 foot pole. The Staal contract is cheeks

Lmao ok. I’ll take one of the best shutdown centers in the league for less than 3 million. What’s “cheeks” is the deal you guys gave Kuemper.
