I can’t see the Bruins being interested in that deal
If they did want Okposo & Girgs, they could get them for cheaper- something like a 3rd & 4th would probably do it

That way they get the depth & still have DeBrusk for their playoff run as well

Seems awful for Boston even if Debrusk isn't having a great year.

They have zero cap space. Any cap they bring in they have to ship out and there is not worse cap being used than what the are bringing in here.

Okposo would be a nice upgrade over Steen on the 4th. But limits them from doing anything else and he’s not the missing piece.

Zemgus is of no use. Beecher does the same thing, and he’s sitting in the AHL because they don’t have the cap space for him and he’s on his ELC.

I figured lol. I am curious what happens with Debrusk in general though. Not for spare parts obviously, and Im not usually for flimsy connections, but the Sabres AGM going to back to back Bruins games when they don't play again is probably more than just a cursory look at some 7th d-man.

If it’s trade it’s either for futures to clear cap space to make another move, unlikely. Or part of a big trade to upgrade.

Of all the players mentioned as trade candidates that Boston might have been looking at , Mittlestedt makes the most sense. Okposo makes some sense but not much. Zemgus none at all.

But Debrusk to Buffalo makes no sense either. He just walks in a few months.

Might make some sense if they thought he'd be willing to re-sign. They have the cap space for it. Im not even saying its Debrusk he went to watch, I just don't buy the AGM going to back to back bruins games just for kicks or like a minor move.

Wouldnt trade a 4th for both those guys, let alone adding JD

Nowhere close to interesting Boston: Even JDB at a low point offers ten times more to the team than two unexceptional 4th liners, one of whom is 35. Contending teams don't line up to recreate Buffalo's 4th line

Okposo - 10G / 7A
Total - 14G / 7A

DeBrusk - 12G / 13A

So the Bruins are going take in two players who don't even equal the production of the guy their trading away?

Again, Boston is reported to have interest in Okposo and possibly Girgensons. This is to see what Buf could get back and potentially re-sign in Debrusk since he's 1) a big cap hit 2) seen as not part of the future. I'm not saying Boston will do it, i'm not either GM obviously. With the reports out there though Bos GM is interested more than some of their fans think.
